Be the star that brightens someone’s dark sky, Be the light that illuminates a gloomy night, Be the flame of compassion to life gone awry, Even if you don’t think your candle is bright. Despair not in a world gripped in jaws of woe For beyond hills of grief dwells halo of hope, Be the spring that rises through wintry throe, Even when struggling in laments hard to cope. Be the forest that grows through ashes of fire, Be the dream that assuages angst of nightmare, Be the angel of goodwill when times are dire, Even when fate, callously, ignores your prayer. Be not pain of misery, be not voice of dismay, From goals of life revered, you must not stray, Wish not for anyone, horizons shrouded gray, Even while a storm drenches your sunny day.

Vijay, I am glad I had the chance to read this. Compassion is so important regardless of how long of an opportunity we have. You put it so very well. We certainly try to remain optimistic despite all the difficulties we see ahead.

Dear Vijay, the shine of your golden pen reaches in deep to illuminate the depths of one's heart with inspiration. The beauty of empathy and the ability to be a positive force has power to uplift intentions to beyond the cumulus and turn idle thoughts into dynamic action. A splendid uplifting poem, my friend. Vijay, Congratulations! Your poem is a beacon of inspiration, urging us to be the light in the darkness and the hope in despair. It’s a powerful call to action to be agents of change and kindness, even when our own light feels dim. Shine on. - Blessings, Daniel

Dear Vijay, Words that we need to read, i hope this reaches many, you’ve passed such a profound write woven with such brilliant rhymes in sheer eloquence. I especially love the way this emanates such an empowering light, and also “ Be the forest that grows through ashes of fire, Be the dream that assuages angst of nightmare,“ i just love how you’ve phrased that! Loved this. Congratulations on your well deserved win. Thank you for sharing

Positive and uplifting Veej. Yes, we have a choice, to prop up or tear down. The former beats the latter every day of the week

Vijay, I am always drawn towards wisdom poetry, a la Kipling's "If" or Henley's "Invictus". This is a shining example of that genre, and is filled with wise counsel to align one's moral compass towards compassion and selflessness. Well done, much enjoyed, congrats on POTD, a Fav ~ John

Hello Vijay, It is not easy to be cheery when you do not feel it. Sometimes the sadness last a short time or longer. I agree with the last verse. Also my fav. My friend. Enjoy your day. /Darlene\

Sometimes it's hard to keep a cheery outlook when even though you try your best things just don't seem to come together. It's important to remember that even the disciples didn't always have a good day. This is a fine write Vijay and a very encouraging one. It always gives me a good feeling if something I say helps to lighten someone's load. God Bless, JB
