Away and Back
Away and back, back and away,
though at my home I'd like to stay,
but duty calls I have not time
to rest a while and dwell on rhyme.
My heart is screaming to retire
and do just things that light my fire.
But duty always wins the day
and leaves no time for me to play.
It fills me with a raging hurt
that makes me with a passion flirt
to change the things that I see wrong
so everyone can get along.
Is it that a solitary flame
is needed to progress the game.
Can one alone change destiny
and take a path that sets some free?
Back and away, away and back
I'd love to stay ….but time I lack.
