Awake

This ticking clock it just won’t stop And the tortured soul won’t let me go So I stand alone in what I know While my sanity bleeds this blood red flow So much easier to just go along Forget my discernment and accept what’s wrong Yet like the one who stood for me I stand alone in what I believe And I feel the madman smile at me Quite content in all he has deceived But it only gives me stronger faith Knowing my soul he will never take For the purest of loves he cannot fake And more than ever I am Awake Religion blinds my eyes no more God’s power speaks to my very core Faith doesn’t simply believe… it knows That’s when the power of spirit flows And how much stronger than all deceivers Is the powerful spirit in all believers Waiting for the inevitable change And the wondrous day for which prophets sang When evil is gone from remembrance of the earth And thankful spirits return to the place of their birth… And the clock will tick no more

This is an amazing, inspiring poem. The 'ticking clock' is very creative, I feel the strength in your words. I remember a reply you wrote saying you were a broken soul and from your poems, you are far from it. We all have issues, if we didn't we wouldn't be human or dead inside and that's not living. Caring for animals and nature as you do is an incredible inner strength of faith to persevere as you do. Love and faith is the light within you. Your poetry shows us all this beautifully Chrisxx

Thanks for reading Lynn, always enjoy your visits!:) You are right everyone has baggage. Maybe broken soul was the wrong word...wounded, scarred... but yes...stronger and wiser for it:) Have great day:)

Thanks for always reading my stuff, and for being such a kind soul...Glad to hear that about the end, it actually took me a couple days to decide how to end it, so glad the extra thought was worth it:)
