At the Hour
Daddy told me put your boots on son
You can’t stay home in bed all day
Go out and be useful to someone
Or we’ll keep going round 'til you see it my way
Oh Mama won’t you kiss me
At the hour
At the hour
When I set off alone
Still runnin' around this old world
Though the maps never seem quite right
Daddy calls me up now and then
Tells me to keep on fighting the good fight
Hey Mama won’t you pray for me
At the hour
At the hour
When I’m out in the wild unknown
He says trust me boy
How you do it don’t so much matter
Make a joke, sing a song, build a house
So long as you’re making it better
I said I hear you Dad
But I ain’t so sure it’s workin' out
If you’re workin' then it’s workin' son
'Cause that's what the whole damn thing’s about
So Mama won’t you throw your arms 'round me
At the hour
At the hour
When I finally come home
