Just a shot at the style, and of course another preach on global warming. Did it frontways then back; only problem was that 21 syllables didn't fit on one line either way. Good thing I didn't go any further.
As We Melt
Heat
Fills
The world
And Summer
Becomes Forever
Everywhere, all the time;
Ice turning into a thing just fondly remembered,
A dream of blue and white now only seen in the heartless, burning,
Unforgiving sky.
The waters rise, the lands recede, we flee to higher ground in search
Of solace
From the consequences of our ill-considered deeds.
Gaia blithely ignores our pleas;
She doesn't need us
To prosper;
She thrives -
We
Die.
