As If, Forever

let me rest below the sun-kissed stars, singing with an aria of cherry blossoms swaying in soft sentiments... ~ easing their way to what i always longed for ~ moondust spreads over my barren ivory skin, covering my flaws in the dark of night- but YOU, you see the beauty in each line on my face, trace my silhouette under silk sheets of solace; not noticing my slightly fading scars, relieve my every ache you see me as becoming ~ i see you as MINE i burn up in your presence, like embers blazing in autumn’s breeze, with fragile flames flickering ~flickering for us~ and we walk into rooms without windows, no need for a view when all my eyes see is YOU- touching the deepest depths, reaching the highest heights for you are all I need… my LOVE, as if forever was long enough January 23, 2020

Lu Loo, I always love coming back to your unique poetic voice; your use of carefully placed indents, italics, and alliterations. I love the line, "with fragile flames flickering" for its vulnerability and alliteration, and the line, "you see me as becoming", just because it's an awesome line! Congrats on your #1 in Brian's contest. ~ John
