Apple Savory

In a weather so tender I gandered and wandered in splendor Lillies and jasmines wafted with the breeze, When I came across lush, verdant apple trees They hung there, scarlet with summer sunlight ahead I slowly approached, spun in elation's thread It was purity I smelled, a blessing, a bliss The breeze swayed, bringing with it a -HISS- I reached for one, the reddest of all With a -PLUCK- it detached in hand to fall -PSSHT!- I laid it in water to wash off the dust It dripped and dripped filling me only with more lust, On the sidewalk I sat, picking the rightest spot, Alhamdulilah I whispered, grasped in camelot Like a starving beggar, in ecstacy I devoured Its sweetness, tingling juice grasped my tongue with power Alhamdulilah: Arabic word for Thank God

Wow Farah. You made an apple seem like the most rare and delicious creation of food ever. My mouth started watering as you took that first bite and I imagined your eyes rolling back in your head in sheer bliss. Such vivid imagery. Awesome write! I swear I am craving an apple! Love, Shar

I love fruit---and apples too! I am always eating some kind of fruit. We had a bag of apples here and I ate them all in less than a week. I know your words. So clever and creative! You made getting an apple sound like an enchanting journey or something...talented, dear.:) Regards, Sara
