An Ocean of Stars

We cling to rocks in the oceans like ants aboard a rotting corpse; feeding off a decaying heart; oblivious to its demise. Warring over choice carrion, contriving bigger colonies on the disintegrating flesh; slowly consuming the life raft. Soon, all that will remain is sea; blue sphere in an ocean of stars.

Although this poem is short, you’ve played around with words in such a brilliant and impressive manner! I truly loved the flow and that ending blew me away! “ soon all that we remain is sea” “ blue sphere in an ocean of stars” wow! That left me in awe! I loved this! Deeply moving take! Thank you for writing. Congratulations
