An Incomplete Love Story

They met aboard a cruise one summer day; their days and nights were filled with ecstasies. Like 'two peas in a pod' they both gave way to letting love fulfill their fantasies. So much they held in common, it was true. They seemed like mirror images of each; ideas, and likes, dislikes and points of view were shared alike in mannerisms, speech. She knew she was adopted, he was not. As months went by, he later found he too was raised by parents not his own; the plot to solve his heritage would soon ensue. Their wedding plans began, and all was well. But, it arrived, that letter in the mail... Ancestry tests matched DNA to tell that they were siblings...heartbreak ends this tale... about their marriage that could never be... exchanged for finding long-lost family. July 23, 2018 Former Contest Rules: Topic of 'An incomplete love story', a girl and a boy are in love, both want to marry each other but can't. Give the reason why. It isn't death; they have to live, but they can't live with each other. Make it beautiful and make it sad, and in between, the reason for their separation must also be very clear.

very very good, Sandra. I saw a movie on this same theme many many years ago. And I know a few real stories exist about this happening. It's so sad. I heard one couple just did not care and they stayed together any way (after marrying and finding out the truth). CONGRATS

Thank you, Andrea. I love the TV series, "Long-Lost Family", where members of families are brought together, especially through the help of DNA testing. Results are mostly wonderful...but some can be disappointing, as I've offered in my poem. Thanks for the nice comment and congrats. Hugs, Sandra
