An Early Autum Day

Die Stille im Wald Nur leichter Wind in den Blättern Am frühen Herbsttag Doch vom fernen Dorf erklingt Leises Läuten von Glocken ---------------------------------------- The silence in the woods Only a light wind in the leaves On early autumn day But from the distant village sounds The gentle sound of church bells ---------------------------------------- El silencio en el bosque Sólo poco de viento en las hojas Un día temprano en otoño, Pero desde el pueblo lejano suena Sonido silencioso de campanas

Beautiful poem Gert, but since Spanish is my native language I would rather write it as follows: El silencio en el bosque Sólo un poco de viento en las hojas en un día temprano en otoño, Pero desde el pueblo lejano suena un sonido silencioso de campanas HOW ABOUT IN FRENCH? Le silence dans la foret Seul un peu de vent entre les feuilles dans un jour matinal d´automne, Mais du village lointain sonne un son silencieux de cloches DINA

Gert , thank you so much for reading so many poems of mine the other day. I too cannot come here as often as I used to. It causes my back to tense up and it's painful sitting here!! I wish I saw some new poems of yours to respond to. I am afraid I may have seen all your poetry already, but let me go see if I can find any oldies I've not yet read. Oh, and say, can you give me some pumpkin recipes in soupmail? thanks Andrea

The sound of the leaves in the wind gives me so much peace in my heart. Autumn is my favorite time of the year. The 'gentle' sound of the church bells gives an extra feel of tranquility. Your writes are always soothing to the mind.:) Hugs, Emilia:)
