This is my first time doing a Fibonacci poem. But I did mine a little bit differently, making it into more of a diamond shape.

How can I not write poems dedicated too Leonardo Fibonacci? The man who saw curious beauty in equations, and perplexing symmetry in creation - counting eighty-nine petals precisely in just one yellow sunflower plucked nonchalantly from a field of summer champions. As amber questions become waves beneath my feet.

This is awesome, Timothy. A fantastic ode to Fibonacci. Love the diamond shape and the last lines. You made it your own, but with good proportion. Lovin your poetry lately! Always, Laura

And THANK you, for reading many of my poems recently, Laura. You know how to write poetry, AND you know you how to read poetry. Fibonacci was an interesting character in his day, and his name lives on in a multitude of ways.

Wow......and another wow. You really thought outside the nacci with this one.. I do agree about the amazing symmetry found in nature that keeps us entranced. I hope you did the 'she loves me or not exercise, as you were counting the petals. SuZ

You're the first to catch on to my underlying meaning, Suz. Thank you. I was attempting to hint at "she loves me not", but still be open to interpretation. Glad you saw that.

That is a very nice thing to say, Paul, and I'm glad that it comes across. If I can, I try my best to look at things in a different way ...

I don't have mathematical intelligence. :( I don't get how this works, but I get that you have turned the form into a beauty by your choice of words and form. Hugs

It follows the Fibonacci Sequence. Each number in the set is the sum of the two numbers before it, starting with 1, 1. 1 and 1 make 2, 1 and 2 make 3, 2 and 3 make 5, and so on, growing exponentially. Since the sequence many have found it pop up all over nature ... some call it the Golden Ratio or the Divine Proportion.

I know there was a yellow contest recently, but I wrote this after it ended. But thanks for the well wishes in any case. You're probably right about the flowers ... yet we do it nonetheless!
