Aloof

Aloof She cringed in pain and fear As she zigs and zag across the lonely and troubled paths she wobbles as she is pelted with rocks sticks and troubled minds She Pants thus filled with dread as she scanned the fiery faces Of friends now turn foes Hungry for her pain Lusting for her blood Eager for her death Beclouded with fear She longed for hope Clinging to herself she is lost to fate even as she holds on to her faith A Dirge for Deborah Yakubu May 12, 2022
