All Hallows Evening

Eve of saints! Night’s soul cleaves! Dull dark day! Sly scenes seen! Souls so gone, caring Christ, are called back, cared and calm! Dark dress worn; bonfire lit; sins we chase, with souls clean! Night in games! Needless noise! Endless feast! Blast blithe-bomb! Trick-or-treat! Lantern Jack! Guests gather! Eat and cheat! Pumpkin lights! Witchy shades! Scary skulls! Brownish bats! Gleeful ghosts! Spiders stout! Black blood flood! Deft drumbeat! Obscure owls! Howling wolves! Haunting kites! Blackish cats! Meatball breads! Brown brawn beef! Spicy pies! Cookies crisp! Candy bark! Worms in dirt! Monster bites! Cupcake coarse! Bleat and greet! Beat the heat! Blare and scare! Will the wisp! Scorn the morn! Own the noon! Sway the way! Course each source! May each act show new fact; with fine fun let's make pact! In each deed of this feast may our love grow in tact...!!! 31 October 2022 All Hallows' Evening Poetry Contest Sponsored by: craig cornish
