ANOTHER FOURTH OF JULY POEM, 7/4/2015

As he knelt to kiss the ground tears gathered in my eyes hands flew to my mouth and my heart swelled with feeling. I soared with him as he straightened and began to run. Surely his heart would burst as he gathered his wife in a tight embrace and reached to touch his son.

Thank you, Connie. I deeply appreciate the fact that they put themselves in harm's way to protect and preserve our American way of life. May we always be free, and may we always honor those who made that possible for all of us.

A very moving write, Cona! Soldiers coming home from deployment are an emotional sight. You captured this well. Love, Kim

Thank you so much, Kim. I am so grateful for their sacrifice, and think of them as America's true heroes.
