A Reminder
If that
Which I care for
Should become
Commonplace.
Would I be able to
Recall It's value
at it's face?
Or remember
That without me
It stands
In it's wonder
All alone.
That it was
Never mine
And never will be
To ever own.
If I should forget
What lies before,
And emptiness
Takes the space
Of what I had,
adored.
Will I ever be
Able to know it
Like I once knew it
Once more?
So if that,
Which I care for
Should become
Commonplace
Let me be,
Aware,
and reminded,
Of the beauty
That is always,
There...
