A Poets Guise

Within poetry is found many a guise See poetry has brought wars to rise Within the breath of Nostradamus tales Quatrain after Quatrain of future spells Throughout time lovers have parted As poet’s tell of the broken hearted Poet’s write of the glory as well as the plight Another young boy fell on the battlefield tonight Though out every Empire, race and creed A poet’s pen was there to bleed Tales of the future and tales of the past Or perhaps making this moment last There are no boundaries to a poet’s heart As they ask of the world, “Please have a part” Through the twisted tales of forbidden romance ‘Tis the poet who offers the reader a glance Into the world that they could never see Through my crystal ball come dance with me The blood from my heart pours out through my pen For I am a poet and this is my only sin
