A Poet's Dozen - Dawn Watch
eyes drink in darkness
before sun colors the sky ~
clock chimes the new hour
Dawn’s silence speaks tranquility,
devoid of life’s perplexity.
So I with the morn, while still alone
read, ruminate, sit still and wait.
Reassured by morningtime’s constancy,
resolute, today’s afflictions I face.
Your Word gives me strength and serenity
as this new day quietly treads with grace;
I feel renewed, wrapped in Your warm embrace.
