A Palace of Blue
Consider the water fields that float in the ocean
Forever-flowing words that speak in constant motion
See the secrets that lean into the salty breeze
Watching with aquamarine eyes and brawny hands
They are like sea stones that roll beneath your feet
There for a purpose but uncomfortable to stand upon
You walk where the sunken cities once towered so long ago
Threads of the long forgotten cries journey into the tides
Their lonely hearts pound with the beat of the shoreline
Scattered shells and buoy bells to the calls of the grave
Here in this distance place where they hold my hands
Where the clouds and the ocean meets, near a seagulls retreat
Dressed in a palace blue, eternal to the heavens
It is here in this watery unknown their story keeps in the darkness
Gone far into the silent mist parting waves with that fateful kiss
I feel their loss rolling in the dreadful mooring song another angler gone
