A Lonely Night

It is lonely this evening. I am surrounded by so many faces, A few are familiar While mine is familiar to many. I greet those I know And also a few I don't It's a bit cold. I shiver. For others, tonight is heartwarming The togetherness, the socialising. They are meeting with people They haven't seen in ages. For me, the winds are cold. So many familiar faces, Yet, I'm still alone. I watch people being together, While I'm alone in the night, Cold and dark.
