A Letter To Her Lady Majesty

You are the Queen of Sheba whom I never knew —But of whom endless stories I have heard; Ten thousand scrolls have I read of you, Yet a ten thousand more I have still, unread. Your beauty a tale many have spoken of, Albeit a legend of envy for your counterparts; The path to your heart I heard is to tough, That in a day you once broke a hundred hearts! But that it may be known to you dear Lady Majesty, That of your splendour I have been so thrilled, So much that I could not but let this hour be But to write in a hurry, a letter unsealed... And this have I done not to appear too brave: Only that my head and my heart, you might save.
