A Dark Underbelly

a dark underbelly cloud sweeps past the trees as they bow down then snap like minds gone crazy defenseless on the hills they no longer stand powerless to the storm a violent wind screams out in tempered gusts before the sky lashes out its bottled rage it slams against the ground, bullets raining down destruction everywhere hail the summer storm that took us by surprise made us see our weakness beneath nature's wrath as we grab our sticks and stones cursing her name a rainbow arcs the sky June 30, 2020 Pick a title Sapphic Stanza Sponsored by Edward Ibeh #2 A Dark Underbelly

Every cloud has a silver lining and every storm has its charm, especially when a rainbow appears which promises you what you have wished for. Hugs and blessings dear Sandy, Jennifer.

The rainbow does make tornado weather a bit easier; and lightning seems less angry in the aftermath also. Nice one.

I see those storms roaming in dark clouds especially in summer thunder--well described, Sandy.

Lovely image there at the end... Resonates esp. well for Chicagoans: We had this exact scenario late last week, topped off by a brilliant, wide-arcing rainbow. How about that?!.. I imagine you had it a day or two later out east... ~ Peripatetic - ness

Can see the darkness in that storm Sandra, the power of nature. Then later sunshine, like it had never been. Good luck in the contest Tom
