This is actually a trio of Triolets which seemed to emphasise a little girl trying to talk her mother round to her point if view. I wonder if she succeeded ... pester-power can be very effective.
A Birthday
Tomorrow is my birthday and I think
I'm going to be six this time around
And hoping for a sweatshirt in bright pink.
Tomorrow is my birthday and I think
I'd like to have a burger and a drink
At McDonald's, but Mummy you just frowned!
Tomorrow is my birthday and I think
I'm going to be six this time around.
On birthdays you should eat just what you please,
McDonald's is a lovely place to go
'Cos I hate eating up my greens and peas.
On birthdays you should eat just what you please,
And eating too much cabbage gives you fleas.
Tomorrow is a special day and so
On birthdays you should eat just what you please,
McDonald's is a lovely place to go.
Tomorrow is my birthday, lucky me!
There'll be a lot of things to celebrate,
I'm looking quite grown-up as you can see,
Tomorrow is my birthday, lucky me!
But Mummy, won't you listen to my plea,
A visit to McDonald's would be great.
Tomorrow is my birthday, lucky me!
There'll be a lot of things to celebrate.
