A-Muse

A-MUSE My inspiration is a Muse who stirs me when my mind is bleak to conjure up a mental fuse igniting thoughts that I will seek coherent schemes of words that soothe creating words as poets do with words as crude as well as smoothe her cradled words awating you a whispering Calliope resounds in epic poetry a favorite muse of my theme a voice that trebles as it teems she fondles all my words of love onto her breast that I adore I stare up to the clouds above now we are bonding in rapport A-Muse-Sing Poetry Contest Sponsored by Richard Lamoureux March 24, 2020

Congratulations Ralph this poem certainly deserved to win - a muse can be fickle, I fired mine one day, but apologized and took her back - i really loved your last verse, very well penned. Blessings, Jennifer.

Ralph, you have written a lovely poem here. Sometimes my muse is fickle and will only come out at night. Other times she will play hide and seek and stay away till I find her again. But as long as I'm true to my heart, she always returns. Stay safe and well. JC Hawkens

A lovely poem, Ralph, on the Muse. Personally I don't rely on her help too often. She's often not there when I need her most! Perhaps she doesn't want to be an accomplice with much I write about? Many thanks for your comments. Look forward to reading more of your work. / M

I love this, from first line on I was drawn in, happily so, and thus delighted in each stanza. It is so touchingly pretty to me that I couldn't help but come up with a line change that I'll only share if you're interested (send soupmail.) The poem is perfect as it is, I just get overly friendly (probably) sometimes! Poetry hugs ... CayCay

If not for our muse how would we get anything written? A lovely honor. Good luck in the contest.

So true, Caren: Even when you have a mental block. a muse is there to take control!
