Wounded Sigh

Under flaming intimate heartbeat Rhythm of the descent moon's sight Velvet twilight grayness vision of night. Still-life far away from the nearest street Under the limbs of a tall hollow reject abstract Flickering shadows dance lack Weary Wounded Sigh, Hard soil suppressed deeper. Tiredness of digging undulation, Hunted near extinction for an acceptation Of the dying soul beacon scripture. 3/28/2024

Life is a puzzle and it is an arduous journey of ups and downs. We often feel tired and fatigued. I can feel the pain hidden in these lines. A very poignant poem and great entry for the contest. All the Best, dear Eve.

There will always be turmoil in this world because evil is everywhere. Can you imagine a baby being killed even while it is being born? Then we blame God for punishing us. But in reality we are punishing ourselves. Hugs. xx

Dear Eve, your poem has such a haunting depth, creating a portrait of weariness and longing amidst the flickering shadows of night. I loved how the imagery evokes a sense of solitude and struggle, where the weary sigh echoes the unspoken burdens the soul carries. Your words linger on the complexities of existence and the quest for acceptance amid the darkness. Loved It! - Blessings, Daniel
