32 Lovely Avenue
32 lovely Avenve
It's one of those streets,
You cannot resist..
It tempts...and beckons,
It calls...
So off I go...walking past,
Thinking...
I'd love to live...in a house like that,
Look...it says to me,
Look in...through my windows
So I do....
Well i cannot resist,
Who could,
If it...didn't want me to,
Should have shut it's curtains,
Shouldn't have invited me,
With it's shiny lights,
Glowing fire...
And burning logs,
Christmas tree,
All trimmed up...ready for Santa,
My attention was moved
Glancing at the tall trees,
With leaves blowing past,
I wonder how old,
Bet...they could tell a story,
Or two....
Then I heard the river...gently moving,
Like hypnotic sounds
I pictured people enjoying the water,
Boat rides and fishing,
Very nice in summer,
People are so very lucky
I thought...living here,
But who are they really,
And what kind of lives did they have,
Are they happy or sad,
I suppose everybody has
Good and bad times,
In their lives,
Where ever they lived,
Anyway it's still a lovely street...
And would love to live here,
In another life time...may be,
Hmmmm
Off I go...
Enjoying my walk.
