Is it possible to control and reverse our thoughtless treatment of the world?
Mummy, what is a flower?
Can you tell me?
Teacher said this is a picture
Of a flower.
Yes it is, my Flower,
So pretty and so young,
Just like you today.
Long ago, flowers grew everywhere,
Fragrant and beautiful.
Mummy, where are flowers today?
Can you tell me?
They can't grow anymore, my Flower,
Destroyed by the greed
of Mankind.
Lack of care and concern means
There are only pictures now, my Flower,
And Nature grieves.
Little children's blighted lives
Means they can not play outside;
Can not paddle in the sea,
All this caused by you and me;
Can not freely breathe the air,
That's why Nature's in despair.
Mummy, look! I've drawn a flower.
Is this right, what I've done?
I don't know at all, my Flower,
Like you, I've never seen one.
