Strong

I see her in my minds eye
A picture of strength and stability
Just like a sturdy oak
Unwavering steadfast
Nurturing and resolute
But beware...
Even a sturdy oak
When exposed to enough storms
Will get pushed and pulled
In all directions
Suffering damage
And growing weaker
It may still stand
But as a shadow
Of its former self.
