Worry

Worry eats your energy and robs your peace of mind
It brings about anxiety so you cannot unwind
It takes away your happiness, it steals away your joy
And left unchecked eventually your health it will destroy
So learn to stop the worry as it only serves you harm
And make the time to meditate to find your inner calm
For your mind is the driving force in how you will progress
And so that inner chatter is the thing you must address
Your thoughts can either set you free or keep you chained in fear
So take back all your power and make worry disappear

A Timeless Place

There is an english garden that I visit in a dream,
where trees are full of blossoms and the atmosphere serene.
A canopy of branches lightly shades a winding lane
and sunlight filters through the trees and warms a gentle rain.

Wild lavender and daisies grow around the willow trees,
and red and yellow daffodils sway gently in the breeze.
Resplendent water lilies on the pond lend gentle grace,
and butterflies in courtship play, then lovingly embrace.

Beyond the lily pond a white thatched cottage stands alone,
with picket fence and climbing vines, I know that it's my home.
The peonies in white and pink are lush and in full bloom,
and as I pass the garden gate I smell their sweet perfume.

My dear cat Elle is waiting for me on the welcome mat,
then follows me inside the house for cuddles on my lap.
The light is slowly fading as the sun begins to sink,
and leaves behind a brilliant glow of crimson, red and pink.

This dream is in a timeless place where visions become form,
and this is where you'll find me, when I'm once again reborn.

Connected To Nature

As she walks barefoot into her garden, her body connects to earth's healing magnetic fields.
She then sits on a faded wooden bench and is greeted by the flowers who gently nod their heads.

A smile lights up her face as the warmth of the sun bathes her skin, and the green grass cushions and tickles her feet.
She then closes her eyes and relaxes in nature's surroundings.

The soft summer breeze caresses her hair as the soothing sound of leaves rustle on the trees.
She listens to robins sweetly singing their songs and breathes in the sweet perfume from the lilac blossoms.

She is connected and content.

Mother Earth

There is a flawless planet that abounds with diverse life
Where humans live in unity, free from hate and strife
The oceans, lands and rivers are all thriving and pristine
And people work together, to keep it safe and clean
There are no country borders, no money, fear or greed
And food that keeps them healthly, is all begun from seed
Their homes are eco friendly, as are the clothes they wear
And the source of their adornment is the flowers in their hair
Their lifestyle is simplistic, no stress to make them ill
And all who dwell upon this globe are people of goodwill
This wonderous sphere with lifeforms, near a star was given birth
A place of peace and beauty and her name is Mother Earth

Undertow

It's like a powerful undertow that pulls you down below,
till darkness swirls around you and there's no place you can go.
It fills your head with sadness and it buries any hope,
and soon you find that sleeping is the only way to cope.

You wake up every morning with that same dark inner dread,
which leaves you feeling broken so you cannot leave your bed.
And other days you feel so low that all you do is cry,
and when it hits you rarely ever know the reason why.

It feeds upon your energy and slowly drains your soul,
and pretty soon it makes you feel that you're no longer whole.
You cannot cope with simple things like getting up to dress,
and even your surroundings start to look an awful mess.

You slowly start withdrawing from your family and friends,
which just compounds the problem like a loop that never ends.
But there is always hope as you are stronger than you know.
Just seek the help you need and you will beat that undertow.

The Earth Realm Gate

Although my human form is gone
My consciousness continues on
I know your sad and miss my face
But I still live beyond this place
There is no pain or suffering here
Nor hunger, fear or hate
Just inner peace and so much more
Beyond the earth realm gate
So dry your tears and trust your heart
That all connect and cannot part
And when the bodies tired and worn
We meet again when we're reborn

My "belief" is we are all facets of a powerful unseen intelligence and all is connected. My reference to being reborn is the idea that when the life force energy leaves the organic form. It returns home.

Poetry

Listening to poetry can help spark an ember
For those with dementia some past they'll remember
Studies have shown that when read aloud
Poems have power to help lift the cloud
Awakened by words in rhythm and rhyme
Recollections are stirred that had faded in time
Although not a cure it can bring on a smile
As some memories return and will stay for awhile

A Journey That's Heavy Or Light

In the mirror of life, how we think, speak and write
paves a journey that's heavy or light
So we must become mindful of words every day
Then our lives will be happy and flow the right way

Side Note:
Not always easy to do as life can throw many curve balls. I know...

Time Marches On

Eye catching patterns in colourful squares
Were carefully stitched by gifted old hands

Commissioned for years to sew her fine quilts,
Her quilting designs were sought through the lands

Each blanket exquisite and full of old charm
All labours of love made at home on her farm

But time marches on and her eyes had grown tired
And at ninety four years she is now long retired

Marmite Or Vegemite

Marmite or Vegemite, which is the best?
If you dont know then you won't pass the test
One is a milder and lighter brown paste
While the other is darker with a meatier taste
So if you've not tried them please give them a go
Or ask Deb or Tom and they'll let you know ;-)

Dedicated to Tom Cunningham (Sir Tom's Marmite Army) and to Deb M (The Queen of the Kingdom of Vegemite)
