Wisdom and knowledge,
What’s the difference?
Wisdom comes with knowledge,
But does knowledge come with wisdom?
Wisdom has its moments,
Comes with a sense of glee.
Knowledge is a bore,
Requires study, you see.
Wisdom is a tree,
Sturdy and standing tall.
Knowledge is a bird,
Small, a bit nerdy overall.
Yet, this remains true,
Knowledge seeks wisdom's realm,
Just as a bird seeks a tree’s shelter,
to flourish in its helm.

The old can travel and visit
Cool places some think exquisite
For our ebb and flow
Even fools should know
Requisite restroom...where is it?
A lesson learnt in ancient Rome:
Beware the sun with sea-salt foam
But learnt at Yale
With skin so pale
Don't leave your bikini at home!
Why, of course, OUR country is superior!
We are free not to say what we think...
Yes, comrade, you are right -- wink, wink
Here we are not free to say what you think
intellectual stilettos
stepping on toes
more than hips swaying

More than once I’ve gotten Final Jeopardy correct when non of the players could and the simple questions correct which left the other players scratching their heads. Jeopardy is an American game show in which the answer is given and the players must come up with the correct answer.
QUESTIONABLE SMARTS — THE EASY ONES
irony of jeopardy — champions can’t answer the simple questions

Agent ninety-nine and her Smart
And would you believe a sweetheart?
A spy that is kind?
A mystery find?
The smoke of her eyes sees Bogart.
Their triplets in trouble - a game.
A mom and their daddy’s acclaim.
It’s KAOS at home.
Their ears in a dome.
The mishaps of duo so lame.

Here I sit in my big easy chair
Getting older by the minute, losing my hair
Still got the smarts
But those big old farts
Are making it hard to concentrate I declare
Intelligence rises from ignorance when elevated by common sense...

Know what it's like to be seventy-eight
It ain't all sunshine and roses
Can kinda feel like yesterday's generation
Then answer a question someone poses
No one knew the answer but this old guy
Makes me really feel kinda smart
Still got some stuff to offer these young'uns
Old, but I ain't a dead old fart
Remember thinking when I was young
Old guys aren't with it anymore
All they can think of is napping all day
With incessant very loud snores
Well now that I'm finally one of those guys
I can tell you right here and now
We've still got the smarts from living so long
So listen up, we'll show you how

If throughout the city you are a roamer,
you will see the word "civilization" is a misnomer.
It looks like a city, but it's a jungle out there.
When walking down the streets, one must take extra care.
There are liars, cheats, and crooks galore.
Nothing has changed. It's the same as before.
What does it take to make a right from a wrong?
Citizens must be street smart and strong.
inspired by another member's poem
respect ain't always nice
is always true and kind, tho
wisdom love yes
There's a thing called street smarts I'm learning about.
Everyone seems to have them but I am without.
Do unto others before they do it to you.
This is their motto, it's all that they do.
I cringe when I see it, they laugh when they find
someone they call a sucker who is only being kind.
They bleed them to death then move on to another.
I guess they don't know, you should always love your brother.
They live life backwards, I guess they always will.
Look at live spelled backwards and you get evil.
I once was young but didn't care
And now I'm old and know it.
I'm slow of step and gray of hair
But Dang! I'm smart and show it.
I may smell rancid, may fall down
May even spit and cough,
I'll share the wisdom I have found
Or you can just bug off.
I wasn't born with all my smarts
It took me years to lern 'em
So if the young'uns refuse to listen
Well, I just say, Dern 'em
My niece, Johnette Loefgren and I wrote this
I'm the OLD, she's the SMART. LOL
