"love's craft"

A Zulu
There once was a tiger at the zoo.
His eyes followed visitors like glue.
Teeth sparkled bright white.
Chops licked at their sight.
He wanted Zulu on his menu.

Time
too little said too soon
or is it too much too late
either way, the crescent moon
just won't align

reflections in a mirror cracked
icy winds stinging my face
it ebbs and flows when I look back
the clock on zulu time...

Gazing Into Africa
pen to my paper
A slave for a master
The brown in pigmentation
Beautiful dialects
of a Zulu nation
rediscovered
in a queen's eyes.
Her gaze speaks
like a summer sunrise
befalling the Serengeti
pen to my paper.
Word to my flow
A mixture of color
only poets know...

Two Worlds Collding
Africa, lie low,
             amidst the jungle beauty
                and many oceans.

                  Stanley meets Zulu
            the center cracks open then
                  all things fall apart

Premium Member Zuni and Zulu Remain Single
Zuni and Zulu cute twin gorillas
They loved the most insane hairy fellas
They courted them expertly
Fed them sweet chamomile tea
For they were such conniving bellas

Jake and Jim went to their hut for tea
Both fell for Zuni unfortunately
Zulu was so mad
She called them both “Cad”
So neither were offered matrimony...

Egyptian Boulders
Zulu drum
Egyptian people gather
Chant for freedom
Sesame seed music
Power to the soul
Amazing marketplace
Amazing fortress
Military gather power
Zulu drum
Mosques chant
Church goers pray
Lonely Wolf cries out
The Pyramids shake
Large question mark on the future
One thing can change they say
Egyptian boulders...

Tribal
Tribal beauties, all lined up,
eyes cast to the ground.
Young breasts bare and feet not shod.
Only natural beauty found.

The Zulu prince walks back and forth,
perusing for a bride;
While hopeful father's look on, tense,
Each displaying their loin's pride.

One of these will be a Queen,
Birth a Nation's next proud Chief.
With result, a father can live on....
Mortality's Relief....

Identity
At the silted banks of river Nile,
I'd sung to the glory of Lucy;
I'd soared high over the echoing Savanna
and fought and bled for Shaka Zulu.
I was first to push back abyss,
the last to be ripped away. I'll
return one day, I'll bring the rest.

The Red Lion
Apart from the worn stone-step
where drunks still topple,
or the hand-painted sign,
all has changed,
now a neon glow backlights a plasticized fascia,
all ‘local color’ painted over.

In the car park,
two frizzy blondes face off,
The smaller has plastic bangles,
she rattles like a Zulu warrior,
fingers stab through cusswords.
Youths shout
over the clomping-thump
of their car radios.

"I used to come here often"
I explain to my incredulous wife.

"Good times."
