Pitted and marked, scarred for life,
A Sportsman, Boxer, punched by knife.
Brutal the battle to knock his man down,
Broken features for belt and crown.
Commentator’s cliché, blood sweat and tear,
Blooded and bruised, year upon year.
A good-looking lad, till he started this game,
Permanent damage, but wealth and fame.

boozed drunks riding four wheelers or
riding horses through woods on tow path in winter
air filled with burning greens
causing fog to roll down to family owned gas station
yet on the horizon
the sportsman club
gleams with sharp lights as 
shooters aim to win
on the other horizon
congregation singing every sat. night 
and sunday morning...

And what a career I've had,
Watching sports around the globe,
I take the good with the bad.

I have to keep my fitness up
So I drink coffee by the cup,
Excuse me while I adjust my lounge chair,
Wow, my horse just got up.

But one thing's always bothered me,
It makes me cringe with fear,
If my remote control finger's injured,
It might end an illustrious sporting career....
