Mindful Games
And the playing cards were dealt...
The demon, the angel and the joker
A mindful game to be in doubt...
When simply a game forever......

If my days were fanned out in front of me,
like a magicians playing cards,
I couldn’t pick one, just one, any one
that was better for your absence....

Trump Card
In a card game we welcome a trump. With a trump an opponent we stump. But we’re not playing cards, and the earth lies in shards. Time to carry our Trump to the dump.

Doge of Saambalpoor
gothic pillars of broken
marble half clad room
empty ruins of majestic
temples of love
dogs dont bark here
in the streets of
love they are
playing cards
with no stakes
arguing with a smile
on their stained tooth
dogs are beautiful
here in

Wonderland
Without Malice, the blonde wee waif, with her banded hair and blue-white dress,
Shrinking alongside an insane milliner slurping tea, and dunking biscuits hard.
Frenetic and wild, the April Hare, late by 30 days, his minute hands I guess?
The Heartless Queen collecting heads, taking the fun out of Playing Cards....

The Gambler Playing Cards Hand
This my game is up

The cards are about to fall

Not long now

Until my bluff is called

And everyone will see

Me for who i really am

I'm not even holding a pair

And worst of all

The stake i am gambling with

Isn't even mine

Yet i still went ahead and bet it knowing i could never pay it back...

The Cat
The cat,
Has cast away his coat.
For day clothes,
Hat, shirt, pants.
Pockets full to bring home,
Marbles, playing cards,
dirt from the grave.
A plate using his hand to move a fork around,
And wipe his face.
From the trees the orange fades away.
Back the cold white light.
Preparing for sleep he puts his clothes away....

Playing cards until dawn
    Jake's idea of fun
While his wife is out on the town
Jake is not to be outdone...

For his good buddies, he orders a cake
with a stripper inside, big bosoms all fake
At the stroke of midnight ~ there must be some mistake
his wife pops out, "Hi, honey. Now watch me shake!"...

Playing With the Right Cards
It's worth the trick...
           in life show
            always the letters...
             the cheerful letters.
              love letters...!
           hide... hide
              yes no show
               the sad letters,
                worthless cards...
                 let them stay
                   no displayed... !...

Out of Nothing
Making sense
Out of nothing,
So intense
The pain is growing.

Trying hard
To fill emptiness,
Playing cards
Without clemency.

So sacred
Is your selfishness,
And so, scattered
Is your mercy.

What fortune
Have you held,
In a lack of emotion
You have dwelled.

Many papers
I unfold.
What have you kept,
What have you sold?...

The Queen of Smoke
Your words like music in my head
I'll show you
the good
you said while
you pull out another cigarette
Playing cards with fire

Inhale exhale
the smell of you
Inhale exhale
the look in your blue eyes
as you pull out joker on me

Inhale Exhale
I am
Inhale Exhale
the Queen

And in between the smoke
and dissapointment
you lost the Queen...

In the Sea Beer
Those two submarines are playing cards on their lunch break,
Suddenly a boiled egg passes and say:
-Hi five what you guys doing?
-We are playing cards
-Can I play?!
-This is only for members.
-That's OK
-I was going to the barbershop anyway,
- Ask Hydra for a Beer egg
- I have been going to AA man are you crazy!,
The egg vomits
The submarines laugh
Hydra juggles

Premium Member A Visit To Grandma
You're not only from Kings mtn., NC, but also a Henderson, if you remember a kind of
chunky older lady sitting at the table playing cards, dipping snuff and spittin' in a can
on the floor, playing smut while whistling "she'll be coming round the mtn", between
her top two middle teeth, looking over the rim of her glasses and cheating with Ed
Whitstine who was sitting across the table humming. Lord, I miss my grandma....

Steadily Steering Than Disappearing
Though we may be miles apart
Poetry Soup is great place to start;
All of your talent was really great
Which in my email I did state.

Had to give you all my high regards
Heard are great when playing cards.
Away from poems are steadily steering;
Some day soon will be disappearing.

When we would have been on a roll;
After they had taken another poll;
Ate my spaghetti that was stringing
Which is when they called ne dingy....

Remembering Uncle Jimmy
I remember your smile that twinkle in your eye,
you could make us laugh until we would cry.
Fishing and crabbing trips and your love of the sea,
all of these are now a part of me.
Whenever someone called you were always there,
a heart of gold you always cared.
Now you're playing cards up in the sky,
forgive me if a tear comes to my eye.
Remembering all the things we would do,
Uncle Jimmy I will never forget you.

King of the Sticks
He's 'King of the Home'
in his high chair and gown,
taking his feedings with
dreams of being downtown;

his jazz band was playing
he'd blow and he'd sway;
he remembers those times
like it was yesterday.

Sneaking drinks from old Joe,
playing cards in the back,
going upstairs with Lil
so he don't lose the knack!

He's behaving himself,
but he ain't forgot tricks
he learned in the mean streets
as 'King of the Sticks!'...

Premium Member Playing Cards In the Dark
I dream there is a burning fire and near the fire
We play cards in the dark
And in the dark we lose and we laugh
And the black puddles
                                of light
Guide our thoughts
As the folly of shadows and the constancy of loss
Teaches us laughter.
                               And so---
It is under darkness and crackling
Flames that we drip blood

And when we drip we love, and
When we laugh we share ourselves....
