A Gargoyle
Whenever it rained
I cried till my voice was hoarse
For that one I'd know
Then I saw her roam the sky
Reminding me I could fly...

The Ss Are Squinding
Slippery squat salamander squinding,
Sucking, slurping under my sailboat.
Deviously deciding a dindling,
Grotesque gargoyle giants squind your throat!...

Gargoyle
There a premodern smile does emerge
From a hymn and a funeral dirge
For it e’er hails the skies
With its wise stony eyes
Knowing heaven and earth soon must merge...

The Eye of the Goblin
What the hell is happening?
Amazing beat
Life endeavors
Gargoyle eyes
A powerful sword
A hungry wolf
A blaze of smoke
Raise the gun
Fire a rocket
Not a bullet

Disperse These Cretins!
Brisk

before grim
gray gargoyle clouds
explode with static glee
rinsing the joyous sweat from
fleeing parents and progeny
scattering like insects in the spray
of annoyance at their sheer existence....

Gargoyle
Gothic creatures of old
gaze down from their ledges
glaring at unseen threats.
Grotesque legends of stone
garner my attention
garish symbols ward off
ghoulish evil demons.

Terrifying Winged Gargoyle
Winged gargoyle appeared in my sleep with glaring teeth.
I felt intimidated, there seemed to be sinister ways beneath.
Why would the sleep faerie put such a gargoyle in my dream?
I ran from this monster, my terrified heart pumping full steam!...

Gargoyle Mist
steering blatant revelries, ghouls engaged to death
chomping down streetlight openings in bitter stone
bow walled yew tree drifters, steps of many feet in
shallow parade to pew, the kneel cushion's betrayal
- how the shadowless crave… and the headless sing...

Gargoyle the Conversationalist
What makes this faerie special?
She is naked.
The gargoyle rolled his eyes.
They are all naked under their clothes, he said.
True enough.
She is pretty.
He scoffed.
She is kind and generous.
He kept waving his hand, encouraging her to tell him more.
An expert at not having to hold up his end of a conversation....

Home
A bird flutters its wings,
Propelling itself into flight.
A gargoyle stares down at
London with its gruesome smile.
A whale swims slowly,
Its huge mouth open to eat.
Under the ground, a mother
Rabbit nurses her young.
A boy lays sleeping,
Darkness falling.
All the places we can go,
None is as pleasant as home....

Adrie and Faral
Elf Adrie creeps into surviving
elongaged Germanic black forest shadows
Boichem, tolerant gargoyle, pretends indifference.
They have pussyfooted around each other for decades
Pretending the other does not exist.
Adrie sends up a plea to her cousin Faral, the half-faery
Who replies, but is eaten by gargoyle upon forest entry....

Better Not Mess With Mandrake
A gorilla asked for my stomach today
I could do without it, so I gave it away.
My family thought this was a huge mistake
Except for my gargoyle, his name is Mandrake.
Some of the relatives began to make fun of me.
Mandrake lovingly slipped arsenic into their tea.
No one bosses us around anymore.
Except maybe the once-healthy lion, who is dying next door....

One of Those Kinds of Nights
North wind seemed to breathe heavier tonight
I felt a shadow gargoyle sit down on my chest
My lungs labored to breathe,
I heard two sets of footsteps,
Was someone following me?
I felt threatened without understanding why
I stumbled on a chunk of rock,
and wondered if it was a skull
It was one of those kinds of nights
A flashlight would have made all the difference to me...

frosty crystalline glass panes...

Witch Faerie Princess Or Pirate Queen
Are you a witch, a faerie or a pirate queen?
She giggles and she nods her head.
I am a gargoyle and a dragon too, she says.
Then she pirouettes. She is wearing a crown and cowboy boots.
Seven-years-old, and she knows no limits.
Which one are you at this second? I ask her.
“A faerie? A witch or a pirate queen?”
She laughs. “I am a princess cowboy,” she replies.
Wise beyond her years....

Growing Up
I have a pup called Sheeba
And Muttley is her mate,
And when it comes to dinner time
My pups are never late.
They ate my Gargoyle Monster Set,
They ate my teddy-bear,
They ate my pet goanna,
They just didn't seem to care.
They ate my budgie Hercules,
They ate my mother's mat,
Now they waddle everywhere,
My pups are very fat.

Gargoyle Greets Kindergarten Class
a giant genuine gargoyle greets you said the gothic cathedral host.
as if this terrifying statue of scariness is a good thing of which to boast.
the kindergarteners were screaming as they got off the tour bus.
it took weeks for us to simmer them down, me and my teacher pal Gus.
never again we told the principal, we will not take anyone five.
they were frightened to death, thinking they might not leave alive....

Death, Again

By almost every tradition and religion
As with goblin, gargoyle, fairy stories

Beaky Man
There are ghosts, ghouls, and gargoyles out tonight.
They could all give you a scare, maybe even a fright.
But the one that terrifies me the absolute most,
Is not a ghoul, gargoyle, gangster, or sinister ghost.
I am terrified of Beaky Man. He’s trouble with a tee.
His giant beak smacks people from sea to whining sea.
As if that is not enough, his eyes will narrowly scan.
They’ll demand you tell the truth to scary Beaky Man....

If You Have a Pet Gargoyle
I now live in the country
Where I can take my pet gargoyle for a brisk walk
Among roosters, foxes, and quail.
They pretend indifference.
None staring
None pointing feathers, claws or paws.
Not one screaming or shrieking.
Not one crossing the street in a prissy, haughty way
Like the stuck-up New Yorkers do when I take him for a
Walk down Fifth Avenue.
Only one of hundreds of reasons I
Prefer living in the country…....

Pay Per View
bow to one knee
cut my throat
ear
to
ear,
bend my head toward my chest,
does this blood mirror revelation?
rent your self a Christ and extend
the olive branch.
there all compliments
of the house of the funny.
honey castles
hostile reverence
every action paid in full.
legions cry for intersession
sizzled in gargoyle blood.
welcome to the feast of the
laughing virgins lost in prize.
the line is long so prepare
to win nothing!...

Gargoyle Sits On Magnificent Mile
Gargoyle sits on Magnificent Mile
Glaring at passengers
Most never smile
They head for the El
They’re headed out west
Where they live with their families
Who think they’re the best….
Gargoyle glares as they get off the train.
Hates them soundly with his mean concrete brain.
His life until two thousand and twenty
Now he waits for people, there ain’t many.
Did they die? He asks his gargoyle mate.
Maybe her answer; she cares not their fate....

Mystery Walk
In the summer twilight
A gargoyle silhouette yawns
A rat scuffles with something in
The lavish undergrowth
Gravel crunches under foot and
Grasshoppers click their brittle wings
Watered thoughts slosh in my Head
As I walk amongst the darker trees
Magic mystery minces me and musters
Moving fantasy!
Shards of light flash in my mind
Shining up some homid kind
I see the Garou running free, howling!
Gravel crunches under foot
I continue walking....
