the battlefield of survival

The Battlefield of Survival

There is nothing that brings out our fragility
to surface like surgery, dreams one has of
success is laid bare under the well-lit light
of an operating table
First time I had one of those growths removed
was seventy-five years ago by our doctor
wearing a three-piece suit with a blue tie
My memory of him is that of a man who
had a cigarette in one hand and a scalpel
on the other hand, during the proceedings
 he spoke to my mother about the weather
That was inclement, and the Labor Party
He and my mother were communists
For a long time, I had to take blood tests
which I didn't mind, his waiting room was
full of magazines and newspapers
There is nothing to read in waiting rooms
anymore, apparently, it is unhygienic
Not that it mattered, one has phones
The surgeon and his assistant spoke
pleasantly to each other about their work
at hand, I just happen to be there
After the operation, I was led into a room
to rest and dress, no, there was no kind
 nurse serving tea

Premium Member A Slight Kerfluffle

     testimony that disrupts
       proceedings it interrupts
     in a courtroom liable to erupt…

       from a recess abrupt
       order is anon plucked

how it is done

A very rich man, not the one who springs to mind
likes to leave behind as many children as he can
Clearly, it would be wrong to have an affair with so many women, almost immoral, where emotions disturb the proceedings, therefore, artificial insemination is used
The rich man is in a sterile room, masturbating into a tube, the result he hands to a flunky who carries the result into another room where the business is done, but sometimes things go wrong and he has to repeat, for this there is a stack of pornographic pictures he can look until he get an ******** suitable for the purpose
Sometimes a baby girl is born, which he accepts but would rather have boys; he aims to have thirty children and hopes there is no mishap generations ago giving him a child of the wrong race. Should this happen, he will not despair, but happily point out he is not a racist

Premium Member there's a bloke bringing in a six-pack of beer to watch the nutcracker

he sits in front of us with his family
nice touch but then it is evident from
his long pig face
that there; has been some foul play

the sweet woman welcomes us before
proceedings with a monologue of length
i stare at the seat in front of me
cake wasted and my wife brings a Coca Cola

the bloke is the first to applaud
the introduction with idiotic enthusiasm
and his son notices and they high-five
i should have brought nunchucks

the second half is boring
white bread stuff
my son is asleep
yawntastic

never move your eyebrows when talking

Premium Member Enjamblment, Gathering and Forging

Of the evidence -
Oh the preponderance of tabulated facts
If for not the days accumulated notes
Might the proceedings be held of lack

Perhaps a pensive notion
Deep within the womb
Leading to retraction before the ultimate impact
Spreading a distant plume

A scavenger of such
Gathering and forging on
To find a key of existence
To find the truth in this mysterious life

I weigh all that was ingested
A judge and jury perhaps
Searching for knowledge and wisdom
A book
Of life itself

Premium Member Rhyming

Some folks, for fun, collect stamps or cook.
Others may seek lofty mountains to climb.
Erudite people might well pen a book,
But I'm happiest when I make a rhyme.

My hope is to write meaningful and true,
But, at times, I might get carried away,
And rhyme any 'ol thing and before I'm through,
I go overboard to my friends' dismay.

A speeding cop asks for registration.
I say, "this ain't cause for celebration".

The grocery cashier says, "have a nice day".
I say, "how, with the prices I must pay?"

I think I would be the most delighted,
If things like the presidential debate,
Or congressional proceedings were recited
Completely in rhyme - yep, that would be great!

When I'm asked "do you take her for your wife?",
I'll say, "sure 'nuff mister, you bet your life!"

Horse Ahead of Cart

No Milord, it can wait— this software,
Let’s talk of what wears hard— the hardware.
Let justice come in time,
Ye better prove it’s prime,
On firm ground, not like gauze gossamer!
From sentiments august
To first things that come first,
So that time-wasters of cobwebs clear,
Let justice come in time,
And with reasons that rhyme,
What use late, late justice although fair?

Happenings |10.05.2023| justice

Poet’s note: The Chief Justice of India feels: judiciary is committed to take justice to every home through technology: live streaming of judicial proceedings, translation of orders into local languages, e-courts, and the like. This is fine, but if there is one problem to be addressed to before anything else it is clearance of hundreds of thousands of pending cases. A commonsense 80:20 principle that 20% of efforts fetch 80% of result. This is third in the series: Your slip is showing, Milord.

Premium Member A Four Way Stop

Always great fun at an intersection
With only a four way stop
You start, he starts, it's him no it's me
Nose to nose, where's a cop

You glare, he glares, nothing's solved
It boils down to a battle of wits
Like kids arguing over a colourful toy
“That's mine! No, it's mine!” and you sit

Even the ear shattering sound of horns
Has no effects on this yahoo!
All hell breaks loose, 8 guys get out
And a bloody fist fight ensues!

Standing back I watch the proceedings
Grown men acting like jerks
Get back in my car, I drive around it all
It's not worth being late for work

Four way stops are becoming quite rare
In this fast paced world we live in
Four way stops are now being replaced
Coz nobody's willing to give in

Premium Member The Last Ghost

The grave was freshly dug

Just awaiting the arrival of the body

Four Ghosts stood silent in wait

They had waited a long time

The waiting was over

The gravestone would remain nameless

There would be no mourners

No prayers goodbye

The body was checked for the final time

A customary nod would start proceedings

The coffin was placed into the hole

The gravediggers quickly shovelled the earth back into place.

No words were spoken

Satisfied, they left

Four Ghosts stood silent in wait

They had waited a long time.

The waiting was over

Four Ghosts

Now

Became

Five.

We’ll be giving free watermelon slices all day!
Carnival rides, seed spitting contests, money well spent

July 7

I
This July US of A can boast the great Constitution and peaceful transition from one president to another - without a coup or military takeover - since Geo. Washington was first elected in 1790s.

II
The most recent threat to a peaceful electorate-led transfer of political power, was Donald Trump. Not my opinion,but current USA court proceedings show this fact relating to the Republucan-Party- inspired Jan 6th, Capitol Riot in 2020.

III
Even mature,western democracy is not safe from white or ethnic nationalisms and political riots. Viva USA democracy for all!

Overthinking Complex Humans

I am beginning to understand

Why when it comes to some
things in life

A referees is deemed to be required
to preside over proceedings

So neither party gets to bend the
rule's or gain an unfair advantage

Problem is if that referee is human
and not a computer

Unwittingly they will also be biased and
prejudice as every human is

And it's then left up to there own
individual interpretation of the rules

As apposed to if the referee is a
computer

Which basis all it's answers and
decisions on something logical

As 2 simply yes or no

Because human beings are far more
complex

And require a multiple choice of
options

Like yes , no , emotions , feeling
all or none of the above

Down to do I tick or place an x

And should it be in a circle or a box

Until we eventually come to the point
where all we can think is

Sorry I've lost my train of thought

Please just remind me what was the
question you asked me again was
and my options are

I said I was going to make myself
a cup of coffee

Did you want one as well

You then answered yes

So I said

Do you have
Or
Don't you want

Milk and sugar

In yours

Oscilating Startup

When I took my pen, to jot down my feelings,
I was a bit hesitated, because’ my mind was yelling,
At me, giving its appeal, that
Is this possible for you to be so poetic??!!
But my heart was against my mind,
Giving me a sign for my proceedings.
With the high spirits in my heart,
I began to start, my poetic glimmer,
Sometimes, in a dilemma to start, or should I depart??

I eventually decided that I would set a benchmark,
With my penned sparks.
I started to put all my darker shades and the brighter too,
Starting with the two, later on few,
And still it continues….

I don’t want to be the sun or the moon,
Hoping, for at least to be the twinkling star among the many
unknowingly known.
Where I could feel that, now I am done,
As a receiver of love and appreciation,
In more Tons!!

Premium Member No Longer Accused Nor Cursed Just Rebirth In Christ Jesus-

As I emerge into view;
Into this room;
Out of the womb;
From the fallopian tube;
Proceedings walking down;
Golden stairs from heaven;
A kiss a breath of God through my mother's nostrils;
I am emerged;
I am birth;
Cursed;
a solemn utterance intend invoke by Father Adam;
Convicted a sinner from birth through his blood line;
Now freed by remissions of sin;
Confessing through the blood of Jesus Christ;
As I emerge into view;
Into this wound;
Out of the womb;
From the fallopian tube;
Proceedings walking down;
Golden stairs from heaven;
climbing, flying high upward toward the skies;
To see my God and Jesus in the heavenly at death rise unto a new birth;
I am emerged;
I am birth;
No longer accused nor Cursed;

The Bourne Identity

State terrorism still exists with Gestapo police invading our privacy.
The state of fear and spying defies the constitution.
What is the resolution?
Immunity for all?
Stand up with this revolution.
Find a solution to their illegitimate proceedings.
While they drink from their chalice with greed in power of religious abuse.
Grinning with malice.
Discriminatory misuse.
Condemnation, of this complication.
Leaves everyone with inflammation from your infiltration.
