Premium Member A Short Trucker's Madrigal

Highways and motels, yet still miles to go
such is the life of a truck driving man
forever moving with no future plan.

In dawn's eastern blush, bright headlights still glow
shadows creep in, memories of Maryanne.
Highways and motels, yet still miles to go
such is the life of a truck driving man

Lights flashing ahead, traffic getting slow
poor bastard T-boned, trapped in his sedan
but Jaws of Life ain't enough for this man.
Highways and motels, yet still miles to go
such is the life of a truck driving man
forever moving with no future plan.

Madrigal

Madrigal

it is six in the morning
I get down and move the car from
the place reserved for vans.
This the best of times cooling before the heat begins
only a few people out walking their dogs enjoying
the peace of a beginning.
I could have parked my car in the space between
two cars, but I lose my nerves, this after 60 years of driving.
in the night the wind blew hard from the sea
tiring itself out, and me too I hate the wind it takes my breath away
leaves me a husk falling asleep in front of the TV.
Yesterday I carried water to the house, the porter usually
do this but my wife thinks he takes too much money.
Being able to carry bottles of water is better than not being
able to carry water, my heart does not agree.

Mystic Madrigal Moaning

felon fingers fiddling
fostering rustic rhythm
saucy instrument puking
mystic madrigal moaning
airy atmosphere seconding
pruning pulsing feelings

punctured pleasure littered
in atmosphere shattered
hoisted happiness battered

coda crushed crest;
mystic melody melts
at desire's death

Yucks! fingers again
revived rotten refrain.

Madrigal

in affective dissention
to prepare for their
weaknesses and indecision
am I beyond mortal
my strengths separate
furniture in the rumor
allows those involve to sit
she recoils and strikes
and refuses to admit
understanding her words concerning
she in her vernacular tongue
speaks ill of others
to make us succumb
in her decset
which her vengeance heard
we listen and frown
from her every word
utter the symbols the chorus
those who speak same
gathered before
and made facts rearranged
implications of a passage
the mentions never to be undone
she despises him that he refused her
and soiled his name with filith
to make others not love him
she guilded frust
unbeknown the ancient text
of a stubborn vindictive lover
she smears his image
and takes on another lover
might nights be right
in this realistic love
then him a doubted valued person
under a workers sun
may his labors be seen as foolish tasks
the value of his labor
influlated grasped
of me might he menton
then might she take script
to undo his love
with who she see's fit

You need keep door open'd to love
Forgive past hurts,reach from above
Measure to His Word,God is love.

You need keep door open'd to life
At times get rid of your strife
His pure love is larger than life

Just don't give up on life but climb
God mercifully watches all time.

Your heart to love just keep open
Have faith!Believe!God past hurts mends.

Sleep Madrigal

Sleep's the Great Healer—
Sleep's the Revealer
Of hidden meanings,
Unbidden gleanings.

When sorrow aches us,
Sleep overtakes us—
Stealing away grief,
Like a welcome thief.

Night is the coverlet
For a longing lover— yet
It's Sleep who delves
Deep into our selves,
Finding dusty dreams... on shadowy shelves.

When life's a jailor,
Sleep's the unveiler
Of an inner key...
To set us free.

Sleep's our best friend
At a hard day's end—
Weaver of fantasy... with reality,
Make-believer of what could be...
Sleep's the Great Healer... of you and me.

Premium Member This Golden Day: a Madrigal For Amber

My Amber dear, awake to me.
My madrigal has melody
in trills of the gold finch that you hear.
Awake to me, my Amber dear!

It’s dawn. Arise, my angel sweet.
Put golden slippers on your feet.
We’ll follow where our songbird flies.
My angel sweet. It’s dawn; arise!

We must make haste, my lovely lass,
to walk on glistening velvet grass.
A day like this we cannot waste.
My lovely lass, we must make haste!

A meadow waits, my cherished one.
Through sun-bright posies we shall run,
where dewy fragrance permeates.
My cherished one, a meadow waits!

I know a stream, my darling love,
a shining mountain sits above.
And water falls where gold fish gleam.
My darling love, I know a stream.

We’ll find a rock, oh, maiden fair,
where you can loose your yellow hair.
And please me more. . . unloose your frock!
Oh, maiden fair, we’ll find a rock.

My one true heart, do come away.
Beneath the falls this golden day,
pure pleasure will our love impart.
Do come away, my one true heart!

(Just playing around with swap quatrain form,
imagining one of those guys from centuries ago trying
to woo his maiden!)

Madrigal

Her feet knows the path
Seeing amongst stones
Curled, the grass wet swathe
And stars dry as bones

Into night she walks
Head laden, heart spilled
Her prices for stalks
Less than she is billed

For mulch and tilling
And the clouds too dry
Cost her more spending
The land makes her sigh

But the cycle keeps
In the wind she talks
And murmur-less sleeps
The toad neath the balks

The fog unwinds day
A barren tree shed
Leaves where children play
The sun on their head.

Moonbee's Madrigal

Oh... Oh... Come Into The Moon Light …
        And Dance With Me Tonight
I’ve Pink Champagne, Lit FirePlace Flame
And The Stars Are Twinkling Bright
I’ve Put On Your Favorite Dinner and Rose Dress
        For Your Delight
Ooooh, Come Into The Moon Light …
        And Dance With Me Tonight

Heeeey, Honey, What Happened To The Lights?
You Paid The Bill … Alright?
Bring Me A Beer and That Remote Here
        The Cowboys Play Tonight !
Why’s The Table Set… We Got Guests?
Is That Dress A Little Tight? ……
              * *///// # # ////\\
I Don’t Know Sam… She Just Picked A Fight !
Hauled-Off and Hit Me… With All… Her… MoonBee… M i g h t !

Unsung Madrigal

The madrigal in my eyes
Unsung by the lips
Touches your mind
And vibrates your heart.
