I See You I Hear You I Feel You

I see you in the bus rides to school, when the sun is shining so perfectly over the trees.

I hear you in the music I play when none is listening.

I feel you in the rhythm I dance to when none is watching.

I dream of you during the rainy cold nights.

I see you in my brothers tears.

I feel you in the perfect moments of life, the type you would never want to end.

I smell you in my warm bed sheets in the morning, when I don’t want to get up.

I hear you in the languages I don’t understand.

I feel your soothing reassurance when I wake from nightmares at night.

You may have left me in body, but your spirit stayed.

Because, my love, though I am hurting now it does not compare to the love we shared.

And though you are missing from my side, I know you never wanted to leave.

And in the meadow where I lay, I feel your warm embrace.

Maybe your bones lay rotting in this wicked earth, but your heart is still beating with mine

Premium Member Old Friends

Sitting here with two old friends
On the sofa, fast asleep
Watching chests that rise and fall
Thinking back when they were small
Rescued from the pound for keeps

Though they are my daughter’s pups
Feel a bit like their my own
Both Lyra and Lemony
Spent extended time with me
When circumstances kept them from her home

I recall just saying, sure
Wasn’t reason to discuss
God must look on with a grin
When we let his creatures in
Like when he came and rescued us

My two pups are getting old
I’m aware; I don’t pretend
There’s a time when they won’t be
But for now, great company
A visit with old friends

Premium Member These Two Old Pups

These two old pups are near and dear;
I’ve kept them both throughout the years.
Lyra’s brindle, still cheetah-fast;
Lemony’s best years, in the past.
The thought of losing brings a tear.

When daughter schooled quite far from here
and had them crated, it was clear
they could not last, were much harassed,
these two old pups,

so I kept Lyra for a year.
Then, there’s the time Lem’ disappeared;
she got away from us quite fast,
a week in snow, did somehow last,
and then like magic, reappeared!
These two old pups…

The marriage anniversary
Reminds you of your solemn vows;
Just thank the Lord God Almighty
Who has given you the good spouse.

Premium Member Oumuamua ------ Am I Poet Enough

look out from Hawaii
where summit isles peek at volcan panorama
like curious messengers scouting out ahead
where we spied Oumuamua skim slanting past
interstellar sliver rock tumbling by our yard
from Lyra curving by the sun, on to Pegasus
hyperbolic speedster, too fast for solar capture
  ......
am I poet enough to catch your angular drift ?

  prophet of the space age
Arthur foresaw your approach some years ago
for moments our eyes meet, tangential traveller
mysterious wanderer, wonder who probes whom ?
wonder whether we are worth your fleeting visit ?
here's hello from us to the white-horse mythical stars
wisdom and excitement resides in not being sure
  ......
am I poet enough to read space between the words ?

  do not stare directly
be askance, be oblique and somewhat off-kilter
watch the molten islands plume across the ocean
cosmic time, ancient journeys, canoes and planets
stumble on a meaning, kneel down, breathe in, rejoice
feel transition, change of key, symphonic rise and fall
music in the silence, in divergent destinations
  ......
am I poet enough to hear gaps between the notes ?

Isolation Tv

The clock on the wall
Just past boring.
Today’s Big decision is crumpets
And Charlie Stayt on the BBC still boring.
Today’s news is Covid 19.
The homes been put under the hammer
and martins told me to do my homework.
and I've been on a bargain hunt.
I turn the radio on its smooth fm
It’s a constant link of cheesy tunes
and yes I am living on a prayer.
oh I could so easily murder someone
best not as its father brown now.
then more Covid 19 on the news.
out for a walk with the lyra clad masses
and there’s more cyclists than Beijing.
Teas a thing with the shortest expire date.
And im now watching pointless which seems so apt.
then of to help Indiana find a crystal skull
then more news about Covid 19.

Premium Member Night of the Waning Gibbous Moon

She went stargazing
in her dream.

As the light of the waning gibbous moon
washes out views of the dark night sky,
she and her lover stood transfixed,
their eyes filled with wonder
taking in the sheer beauty of it all!

There was so much to see and marvel at;
scintillating magic in the wide open
night sky; meteor showers emanate
a magnificent bright light.

They looked through the telescope
searching for the constellation Lyra the Harp
and the bright star Vega, hoping
they'll spot them overhead before dawn

'Twas a night and a dream
to remember!

Premium Member The Phoenix of Peace

Deep in the heart of Ireland there runs
A dark belief the future rests on guns
In the midst of a riot in the city of Derry
That sinister undercurrent was in play
It was then that Lyra, just doing her job
Took snaps to record the rioting mob.
Here was a promising young reporter
Whom many a paper hankered after
Yet a single bullet from an illicit gun
Ended a career so bravely begun.
This innocent target felled by a single shot
Became the shadowy gunman's scabrous blot
For out of that Good Friday's grim testament
There has grown full community agreement
That terrorists must never again stalk the land
To dismantle the dialogue of peace long since planned.
Out of the ashes , we hope , of the martyrdom of Lyra McKee
Will Ireland from vile and callous terrorism be now set free.

Premium Member Sky Then and Now

Once there were billions of them; dotting our night skies; stars.
So few are seen today; thanks to smog and city lights.
Back then, I thought they were Gods eyes; not heavenly bodies.

There are many constellations; formed by those swirling, ancient bodies.
Scorpio, the Dippers, Lyra, Cancer and more; created by the stars.
Orion and his daughters three; Leo and Delphinus all formed by heavenly lights.

Deep among them sits the Milky Way galaxy; a giant display of holiday lights.
But year ‘round they’re all offered; those dancing, whirling bodies.
Though they’re now few; I love to still view, those sacred universal stars.

So get out your telescopes and view some lovely stars; magnificent light bodies.

You may forget Intentions and Wonder why

Greed and Jealousy, Hate and War

These are Some of the things you will endure

On the other hand, there are Benefits

The Reason Beings of Other Worlds are taking this trip

It's about Faith, Peace, and Spreading Love

So one day we can Unite in the Heavens Above"
