We now have six people with absolute power.
Is this really a victory or just our darkest hour?

Our God given free will is no longer in play.
Fifty years of progress has been lost to us this day.

Our laws can be changed behind a locked private door.
I guess the power of the people, and their vote is no more.

A new era is upon us, reorientation has begun.
Forget about your ballots, that’s all over and done.

What comes next, the chicken or the egg?
They are not going to stop with just an arm or a leg.

Their righteous morality on us they will force.
The next abomination will be Gay rights of course.

What color is your skin, do you think you are free?
They can put you in shackles, if that’s where they want you to be.

It's now the power of the kitchen, the closet and slave.
So much for our future, we’re headed back to the cave.

Cancel Culture, Black Lives Matter,
Me too movement, Gay rights too,
Social media so much chatter
Have a gripe, just join the queue.

Pro-choice stalwarts, pro-life hawks,
Farm to table, Save the earth,
A world of slogans, countless squawks
A new cause daily sees it's birth.

Sound bites matter, the Media gloats,
Politicians scramble to take the stage,
Armed with purpose and ready quotes.
Often glib and rarely sage.

Where is reason, quiet thought.
Before action and verbal storm,
Popularity not earned but bought,
Measured now by Twitter swarm.

And as to us the silent mass
Forging lives amidst this din,
As we wade through this morass
To crack a smile is no great sin.

An old moral of the sea
Is avoid that siren's song,
Look away and simply be,
Then far less may just go wrong.

Since When

Since when did you care?
about politics
and gay rights
and me.
since when were you loud?
and made yourself proud?
of yourself and your work and me.
since when were you gay?
but still not to say…
that you are
but I've seen the rainbows hidden
in your room
and your thoughts
and your eyes
for me.

Change

Colonialism,
Neo-colonialism.

Independence,
Donor dependence.

Westernization,
Modernization.

Feminism,
Gender equality.

Gay rights,
Human rights.

Murder,
Abortion.

Nothing has changed,
Except for the words.

The Main Event

Two men a fierce heated battle
will wage
Tonight from a nationally
televised stage
Both will be filled with the best
of intent
And the need to score points in
this glorious event

Political rhetoric will be out
front and center
As they bob and weave and
jab, parry and banter
Points will be tallied off
audience applause
For self-serving interpretations
of this great country's laws.

Although both will claim that
they have the answer
To our nation's current
geopolitical cancer
Neither will overly stir up the
pot
Or stray too far from their own
voting block

Gay rights, global warming,
and the NRA
Will be used to leverage
political sway
Inflation, taxation, accusation,
contrition
Will be bloodied and battered
beyond recognition.

But promises made don't mean
promises kept
And when broken, does it
matter if you're right or you're
left
Let's remember the pledge that
still governs us all
"Indivisible, with liberty and
justice for all."

America, You Are Bipolar

America, you are bipolar

Mother of invention and murder

Father of civil rights and lynching

Your children listen to hip hop and death metal

b-boys and skinheads

America you are bipolar

the biggest gay rights champions and the most hateful psycho-bigots

America, what are you?

the greatest artists and heinous murderers

America, when can we find a treatment for you that will finally

stabilize you?

the world is waiting for your treatment regimen, America.

on that glorious day when we can finally call the world

holistic.

Premium Member The List

Anti war activists, gay rights activists,
Green Peace, Pro Choice and women's groups activists.
Anyone who dares protest, anyone known who dare to resist
have all been placed on
America's Homeland Security Suspected Terrorist Watch List.
Hitler managed to round up hundreds of innocent Jews overnight successfully
and confine them to concentration camps where they were treated most brutally.
Executions and torture occurred in great masses of many.
I assume that all now reading are familiar with that record of history.
How was Adolf Hitler able to do all of this?
All persecuted were on
Germany's Fatherland Security Enemy Watch List.
We are all currently witnessing a prerequisite of history everyone.
The List, you can't close down an open society without one.
President Obama promised change and so I now do ask him this,
"Why in the bloody hell does this "watch list" still presently exist?"
