Boldly,

No other word will do,
For the way you forge
Into your life

Each day.

Steps I take to follow
Slow,
With trepidation.

Earmarked with caution,
Riddled with fear.

An extra skin
Carried so long,

A hardened shell,
Baked by the heat

Of a thousand
Silent stares,

Doubting me,
Until
I doubt myself.

You,
The inspiration,
The light,

That will guide me,
Free me,

From the prison

Of

Indecision.

Premium Member Boldly, He Came Closer

He flew to my warmth; moth to a flame
But I tamed the flames of my fire
when I felt the heat of his fingertips
Boldly, he came closer to kiss my lips
and his touch became the heat of desire

For a death, this moth was not to blame

Walk Boldly

Walk confidently into the daybreak its light resting softly upon your eyes

Embrace the day the year ahead
in determined hope surmise

Let any thought that robs your peace
Swiftly let it go

To the abyss of nothing from whence it arose
for reasons only heaven could know

Make peace ,live peace with God and man
reach out with the hand of a friend

Regardless of the outcome
You'll have found peace in the end

Because I Will Walk Out Boldly

Because I will. I did walk out boldly
l fear nothing
 for you save me
tonight
I will remember that I walked into the dark with you
And you made light of all of the adversity
 You stretched out your wings
You stopped those who would have hurt me
You made me dance and love
You made me twirl with joy
You gave me brazen happiness
You let me touch the sky
You let me caress the sunset
You made the clouds becon
You took my hand and you made what could have been bad
good
A simple story
With a magnificent end
But internal grace I go to bed

On occasion, I’ve been told Tom, use some tact,
because I say things bluntly, matter of fact.

No hedging, I’m a truthful shooter instead,
Never leaving one to question just what I said.

But intent, has never been to injure one’s pride,
but to get them to the place where we must abide.

I’ve said things boldly, that needed to be said,
oft times before speaking, I was filled with dread.

One of the best compliments I’ve heard about myself
was “you may not like what he says, But you
have to respect the fact that he tells you to your face,
and you don’t hear it from a third party.”

Shatner's Star Trek: a true break-out show
Well, except for the red shirts, you know?
With their food replicators,
Universal translators,
To infinitives, they'd boldly go.

His dad’s a lifelong Trekkie with a line he likes to say
Tod always hoped he’d get to use the line himself one day
On his birthday Lucy met him by the classroom door
She said I’m gonna give you what you’ve been asking me for
Tod said he’d like to boldly go where no man’s gone before
Then all the kids collapsed in laughter on the classroom floor

Feel peace trace
Joy in sacred space

Words bring tints
As thought textures mint

Works spread rhymes
As art attest chimes

Thought knows well
As deep message tells

Touch feels good
As silence curls mood

Trace pure grace
On your charming face

Start here
Seize lavish cheer

Dare act
Bloom with sure tact

Be brave
Watch your soul save

Act cool
Dare play the fool

Do good
Align each mood

Make art
Right from your heart

Look deep
Wake joy from sleep

Love calls
Mints sweet and gall

Faith hooks
Lives in wise books

Soul speaks
As stillness peaks

Come then
You know just when

How Dare We Ever So Boldly Speak Out

Let me write in obscure and chaotic words
stirring waters tepidly unknown
Yet my spirit refuses to admire such birds
or the massive flattery they are now shown
Why yes, some of us write from poetic hearts
with passion and not merely for fleeting praise
We that sail the seas, using understood charts
are now thought to be in an insane craze!

O' that we dareth to sparsely use archaic words
in poems as way of joining with the past
O' what folly, not wanting to be in a modern herd
or be afraid of those that so love to lambast
Cry thee, to thy Gods of confusing adulation
while we carry on in our simple ways
Content with depth, not writing for modern adoration
full of faith that truth and heart in poetry pays!

Robert J. Lindley, 4-27-2017

Note- Old poet, simple slam and quite tired of elitist criticisms
of poet novices, true hearts writing in understood words and
some that seek to exalt themselves by tearing others down..
Yes, this is a slam, but one done in a simple, reserved and more poetic style.

With Twilight's Glow Nature Boldly Speaks

Soft twilight glow just before dawn's new birth
When sun and earth show, art for all its worth.
O' tender emotions- send not thy cries!
For Nature holds more than blue, blue skies!

As light sends shadows burrowing so deep
Furry animals wake from midnight sleep.
Rabbits and squirrels hop out to and fro
Songbirds sing and splash colors just for show!

When night approaches with sun setting reds
Nature's night creatures, out pops sleepy heads.
Mother owl hoots loud to let man this know
She is wiser than both raven and crow.

Man wakes each day to Nature speaking clear.
Precious life is great, if souls would but hear!

Boldly Seize the Night

We should never, ever
Suffer from timidity…
Erenow let us be
Both brash and bold…
For we’ll ne’er be
This young again (you see)
Nor will we e’er be so old

Let us take delight
In delayed goodnights
In long embraces
Hold so tight
Take leisure in
The pleasure of
Long languid looks
From limpid eyes

We should never be
Afraid To proffer thanks
Boldly offer profuse delight
Always tender soft sighs
And friendly goodnights
And never…ever say
…Goodbyes…

Charge Boldly Charge

Charge boldly charge
No quarter asked
From the valley
They stormed
An enemy
Struck
As blood
A sideways rain
Blinding those
Left afoot
With horses
Shot
A hill to be
Taken
No more reason
Than that
Dead Captain
Face down
His riderless
Mount
Chasing
Straight
To the top
The summit
Crested
Invaders
Turned
With screams
From the
Boys
Now cries
From the
Men
As downward
They start
Killing from
The back
With no
Quarter given
Charge boldly charge

Boldly Because By Phreepoetree

BOLDLY BECAUSE

I rode into town on a white steed with a lethal gun in hand
I slaughtered all their numbers until I’d kill the last man who could stand
“why would I do such a thing?” I hear that query come from you
And I answer swiftly “just because I wanted to”

I rode upon a mighty steed and plundered the place with blood
After a few minutes and miles I cleaned that steed of mud
I killed the men with agility because that’s what I yearned to do
And I took the women forcibly because that’s what I learned to do

My papa always told me “son, take what thou can get”
I rode that white steed hard and put him away all wet
My mama always said, “true love does not exist”
And to emphasize her statement she’d twist my twiggy wrist

Blood was my brother and death my older sister
I was raised by a man who had never been called sir or even mister
My mama did all she could to ruin me for whatever that is worth
Since my mama Is Medusa and my papa is Satan come to earth
