Rainbows of Balloons
(the friendship song)
You’ll find me down by the river
skipping stones in tune
to the great firs that hum
when the soft wind touches
their tops with its light strum.
You’ll find me lost far in the clouds
where smiling blossoms
gather up in a crowd
around their conductor
who’ll guide them in a sun dance
through spring showers.
Nature with you I will celebrate
we'll write songs ‘till late, open all the gates,
so come with me today, celebrate the day,
let us sing and dance in the light rains of May.
We’ll roll down in the fields
in the middle of June
send rainbows of balloons
that will sure reach the moon.
We’ll swim down the river
when July comes around
and we will not be found
until they think we’ve drowned.

I’ve matched the lyrics to Yiruma’s music (Springtime) in this piece.
After the musical interlude (1:30-1:58), the second musical part repeats itself
from the poem’s second stanza, not the first.
SOCIETY AND THE HOT AIR BALLOON
Them that need to climb
ride as the hot air balloon--
soon come down to earth

THE VIRTUAL HOT AIR BALLOON
Ride with the rainbow--
silent as the mouse cursor
across Google earth

Sitting on a bench one day
looking up at an azure sky
I did see red heart balloons
as they slowly drifted by
Crimson kisses among
clouds like cotton candy
Bouncing over green trees
and beaches golden sandy
Dipping down in the wind
they danced atop lilac trees,
then rose again in splendor,
blown by a gentle breeze
What hand had loosed
this treasure into the day
Some lover who wanted
to give his heart away?
I longed to gather them,
return each and every one
they were beyond my reach
as they soared toward the sun
multi-colored balloons kiss the sky - a bright sunrise New Year surprise
In effortless glide
Amidst the invisible thermals
Air balloons do soar
Dessert, A Memory You Have, Balloons
(We Met, We Soared And You Flew Away)
A memory we have of our passionate first night
where candles burned almost as hot as our bed.
Can not forget, sweet lust found in your sight,
memorable treasures now resting within my head!
Your joy at prizes worn popping those balloons
sweet kisses atop that stopped ferris-wheel.
They made me so dizzy I saw two bright moons,
as if heaven had suddenly came down for real!
Every day for that month we ate love's dessert
and savored each new and promising sweet dawn
I have never since felt that epically deep hurt
you waving sad goodbye to me on my front lawn!
A memory we have of our passionate first night
where candles burned almost as hot as our bed.
Can not forget, sweet lust found in your sight,
memorable treasures now resting within my head!

2.) Dessert, a memory you have, balloons
Red balloons I brought, escaped your hand, but you can hold my heart instead

Press and dry; stamped aneath a logo of their own design....
This colourful pigment melting upon red velvet seals
Via the telegraph wires amid these morse code keys
Songbirds, singing their midnight songs unto me!?
Compositions notes to be transcribed from symbol sheets
Covering myself with these their, queen size needs....
Fine silks formed about the countless threads
Words spoken atop their crowned in turquoise, sweet asylums
Letter heads; bejeweled tokens to wear as shining bracelets true
Postmortum promises and then yes, we're wed too....
Pressed and dried; stamped with a logo of their own design
Two steps ahead and side to side, within this, a poetess rhyme?!
Buried between the tilling soils of her rose laden bush
Planted in a portrait that she painted afore the crimson earth
Picturesque, tangled amid her own twist and curls....
Spinning spools which she spun in gardens you see
As she cast her fragrant bouquet webs for all to be
Breathe; delusions digested through her smoke and screen!?
Coloured pigments melted upon stardust dreams; red velvet
Via telegraph wires of higher and highers, morse code me's....
Sealed into their blue realm desires marked in these; infatuations

“Black Balloons Floating By” ~
Balloons
Round and full,
Always seeking the sky,
Lighter than air.
Reminders
To celebrate
Birthdays and birth.
Hold tight the cord -
No escape with the wind –
Joy on a string
Bright colors dance -
Welcome to happy times -
Rainbows of laughter
Always young
Holding a balloon
Smiling hearts laughing

Strands of ribbons ride the sky with suns arrival
Children watch for birds and listen for the bands
To their delight music raises up horizons on the curve
Lifted like a curtain at the circus
Curved at the ends where land meets sky
Higher than high the kaleidoscopic eye burns on
Yellow bright to helicopter heaven straight ahead
Where fireworks explode for fun and nothing
Jump at the opportunity to work for free
Licorice sticky kids eat everything in sight
Lamp posts made of chocolate come in handy
When marching bands go tootsie rolling by
They come alive with signs that never stop
Remaining stationary in their concrete red and white
Drummers borrow beats born on tomorrows slapped behind
Rhythms come from behind because bands don't travel backwards
Red rubber noses adorn clown faces
Crossed feet go stumbling over curbs
In over-sized shoes eager to please the masses
Men in clumsy gloves juggle empty air
As if someone or something were there
Missing persons of interest who disappear
Tumbling invisible in the wind gone after air
Strings hold more than helium up there
Sky balloons fly by in multicolored skins
Elastic in flight, gentle to the touch of pins
Pretty in simplicity, shining in blinding incognito
But parades do not begin without a purpose
Parades come sooner than the circus if not first
When they come they must arrive in cannons
In royal colors, living colors would be nice
And shot to make sure everyone wakes up
As children scream, demanding everything
Holding their breath until they or sky turn blue
Because only balloons can turn to purple
Which is a curse but better than becoming turtle
Turtles can not float on unknown surfaces
Or high in atmospheres from what we can surmise
And if you get the drift on flight mechanics
A compromise to fly would be ridiculous
The sky an ocean of gathering crimson,
leaden on hues French-vanilla ice-cream,
puffy cotton candy clouds wandering sociable.
Grassy field of red spice cinnamon poppies.
Dream of pleasure indulges in sweetness of childhood,
her large blue eyes watch, a half-smile hangs on,
a wink of sun glare, untighten her fingers,
cries, red balloons into the crimson they bolt.

THE BALLOONS
Holding hands together we went out
Into the school yard with the kids one day
And we held a lot of colored balloons ready to fly
Posed for photos for parents then ready to launch
They were excited and frolicking as we counted down
Five four three two one and let them go
Up they went, fast and in different directions, but all
Loosely held together as if by invisible threads
And growing bigger as they ascended
Different colors and sizes, different speeds of ascent
One or two went way ahead, one or two somewhat behind
They reached as high as possible in one direction then
The breeze took them and they became scattered,
Glowing in the sun and freedom
Till we lost sight of them; but I am sure
They went on to become even bigger and faster.
Then we went back into the classroom, loosely held together
As if by invisible threads.

NOTE
This is a true episode from about six months ago in my school.
A schoolteacher does have invisible ties to his pupils,
often long after they have flown, and reached their own heights.

Friendship pure and true
If by chance we will meet once
Like weightless balloons
I thank you dearly
When our spirits need a lift
Sunshine and rainbows
