Attitudes Differ

Thanks to Dr.Ram Mehta for introducing this awesome poetic form to me I had to try it
No two people are the same, likewise attitudes differ
When attitudes conflict it leads to speculation that maybe
Standing down can make you humble not bring humility

Tempers and Attitudes

Tempers and attitudes in our house did stay
Guess it was because we were raised that way
Things could get bad when one of us got mad
If you escaped unhurt, then be really glad
For the attitudes would flare
And tempers would rage
We were all quite violent for our age
With our fists our problems were solved
I know that may sound unorthodox to all
But in our home, an evil ruled
In being mean, we were schooled
My brother and sister were taught well
Mess with them and you’ll pay hell
One day while they were playing together
Sitting by the stove because of cold weather
My brother had taken sis’s doll away
With her, this was not how to play
She got mad and started to cry
My brother laughed as he watched her whine
Well then she thought that little brat
If he wants to fight, then I’ll just fight back
So into the ashes from under the stove
She reached in and pulled out a bolt
A bolt from a rail road tie I believe
And trust me when I say they’re big
She turned around and without a word
A big loud crack from his head could be heard
Golden blonde hair now soaked with blood
I had watched from where I stood
This little girl with such cute curls
Has proven that she’ll rock your world
If you mess with her or her dolls
You’d better run at least three miles
For her revenge is not too good
My brother knows and this is understood
For underneath that cute exterior
Is the soul of a very brave warrior

Premium Member Two Attitudes

self pride
a wall standing
between free resources
and your babies hungering eyes
torn down

beggers
spout civil rights
their misfortune you see
begs atonement by sacrifice
your cash

A recent survey shows the average
beggar takes home $150-$200 a day.
Most of them just consider it “their job”

Premium Member This Harried Life

The day my life became harried
was not the exact day I married
but, the stress turn is deeply storied
in all things wife and mother varied:

While it is piling up,
I attempt bearing up,
patience blows up
and discord shows up;

Known as routine,
it makes one mean,
it creates pressure,
it makes attitudes lesser;

not a mustang of emotion,
not of magical potion,
not made of total reason
sometimes I am not pleasin’;

fury grown from resentment,
fury needing contentment,
fury of blinding confusion
longs for harmonies intrusion;

so my mind sorts its pain,
my body absorbs its strain and
my heart seeks its inspiration
as my housewife desperation

attacks

the cleaning vocation.

The Attitudes

From the heart these words are sown
Borrowed from the word and on loan
Follow along as you will read
In turn these rhymes your soul they’ll feed

In an attempt to pen like Cowper and Knox
And share these thoughts from a bag of rocks
And type them in line perfect and straight
About the Beatitudes for now here’s eight.

The first on the list as we seek and dive
Starting in Matthew and in chapter five
Regarding the nature of poor in spirit
Is about serving others if you can hear it

Secondly lives have been shattered and torn
Our sins hurt others and we neglect to mourn
We fail to extend a recompense
As we rationalize our odious offense

Next is the call and nature of the meek
But do not confuse it does not mean weak
It suggest to be gently, courteous and kind
But the world disregards and put it behind

Where are those who hunger and thirst
To bring about justice for those dispersed
In what ways can we help those in need
And help the poor and those who bleed

Mercy it appears to not even exist
Men wage war with a hard clenched fist
Grace is grounded in total forgiveness
Without it our souls die in darkest sickness

And out of the heart the mouth dost speak
But the pure in heart and those who seek
With the motives of the mind brought to light
Are those who shine like stars burning bright

Fortunate are the peacemakers in the land
That make amends and lower their hands
It is never ever wise for us to take delight
In those who would prefer to start a fight

Finally these attitudes come with a twist
Expect to be persecuted but don’t resist
Challenge the world and the system
This lyric came from the Kings true wisdom

Premium Member People's Attitudes Make Me Cross

Tommy’s having a meltdown
in the local supermarket aisle
I know his careworn mother
so greet her with a kind smile

Tommy’s cries are getting louder
and he throws himself on the floor
Amy ignores him to do her shopping
but hears folk tutting by the door

As Tommy looks like a normal child
folk cannot see that he’s autistic
They assume it’s bad parenting
their attitudes are far from altruistic

People prejudge, it makes me cross
they are narrow minded, it's their loss

Premium Member Candy Girl

This 6 liter hard candy girl
tickles my eyes and curls my toes.
Makes me dance to music I can’t feel.
Sends me where I’ve never been before,
on a tour
of Big Time, Small Town, Milky Way Heaven,
wearing clumsy sneakers that reek of old cliches
and humming sad tunes from all my yesterdays.
Don’t sit and weight for your bowels to move
lost in the groove caused by your life’s last fall.
Get up and do it again.
Well, perhaps it’s different now, I can’t tell:
We’ve all been to Heaven of one kind or another.
We’ve all seen our own brand of Hell
and I can tell
that walking down the road together might be good.
I might understand you better,
might be understood.
But Gee,
what kind of picture does love really paint
with brushes of passion and canvas that aint
really flat.
Well, just put on your traveling hat
come along for the ride.
Cause Man
Cause Baby
Cause Geeesh
I ain’t got nuthin to hide.
Maybe you got your own kinda dreams to share
about some hunk of six digit brand of Macho Care.
Prize pupils starin’ back at you
with guns still smokin’
and pot shots making swiss cheese outa your ROMANCE.
Maybe you learned how to dance
the hard way
banana peels taped to the sides of your skates
and fish eyes staring out of
all of your restaurant plates.
And maybe your hair has lost its sheen
or lost you completely
and gone where its never been
without you.
Well what else is new?
We all gotta tune
of one kind or another
and we all learned to dance from
a sister or brother
and whether we walk with a bounce
or a cane
we all been caught sometime out in the rain
and it aint nuthin new
it’s only me.
and it’s only you.

The Be-Attitudes

Let your attitudes be attitudes of Jesus,
Let your attitudes be attitudes of Love.
Let your attitudes be attitudes like Jesus,
Let your attitudes come from Him above.
Let your attitudes be attitudes like Jesus,
Let your attitudes settle like a dove.

Attitudes

I'm sick of dealing with people with attitudes!!
They have their good days, then some with blues.
I'm stressing hard and I'm trying not to.
My head is so screwed up that I don't know what to do!
The situation is deep and unpredictable,
To be my friend, there aren't too many that I find suitable.
Why when things seem not to go your way,
You have a problem with someone all that day??
Being two-faced isn't the way to be.
Try getting along with folks and be happy.
It's not always easy to make things work.
We have to get it together and go to church!!
They say that the Lord works in mysterious ways.
Being unhappy and miserable isn't the way we want to live out our days!
Dealing with depression, it's hard to live and enjoy my life.
I must keep my head up dealing with all lifes strife.
It's never easy to live the right way.
Sometimes I need to take my own advice, and do what I say!!
It's never good to fight fire with fire.
When you don't tell the truth, you are a liar, liar, LIAR!
Do you think that it's fair with love and war?
We tend to do stupid things to aggravate each other even more.
Stop the drama, hold your mate tight,
Trust in the Lord and it will be alright!!

Attitudes

The attitudes we carry speaks volumes you know...
They're like a dress or suit, they always show.

Good or bad or nice or not...
A bad attitude always leaves a dark sp.

So let us look at our attitudes and make sure they're right...
Because no matter how hard we try we can't keep them out of sight.

Positive, upbeat and happy too...
Because the attitudes we carry can either make or break you.

I've never
Be-held the howling wind,

Yet from effects
I can reason it's there.

I cannot delve
Into the heart of another,

Yet deep inside I'm mindful
If they care;

I have not experienced
Another's miles,

Because I've walked not
In their shoes;

But I'll instruct not one
To sing sad songs,

Given that I'm unwilling
to croon the blues;

Copied Attitudes

Cope with me then copy me
shifting as if no rules
exist and we're all fools
or is it a peculiar plan
to ask lies to be told
then suddenly and out of this word
take down the shameful mask
give me salvation
and give me your truth
never mind my temptation
just make me the ruse
flawed behaviors and forced tools
to make us all the same
then we'll be cool

The Four Attitudes

Rules help us live together in peace
Rules give the hawk control of the geese
Rules are for fools
Who lack the tools
Rules light the way the whole world to fleece!

Premium Member Attitudes

It was a minor car crash,
But they needed assistance.
The woman refused to help.
“Sheer lunacy,” she alleged,
to trust other people.
“Twill be the court for me,”
she moaned as she viewed
the wrecked ruined cars.
She refused to help.

He smiled, accepted the job
and said a fond goodbye to her,
never failing to see her face
wrinkled in a thousand frowns.
“How can you be cheerful and happy,”
she muttered. “Or did I not care for him?”

Oh he cared very much, but
He learned from experience
that he can only fashion his happiness,
even if it meant parting from her.
And frankly, he soon found out,
that leaving her worked better
than a wonder drug.
