You'Re Mine
Guilty I voiced my plea
Whilst the fishies looked at me
There he stood-pleased and grinning;
Disregard of what was sinning
Guilty I yelled again;
Affirmation for the man
My heart you stole for I stole yours;
Exchange of hearts with distant shores…
The tide rolled in and very fast
Whilst he raised a hollow mast.
The water must be warm I thought
For the human love he brought.
Sand it stuck between my toes,
The waves rolled in; rows and rows
There he waved with rugged hand
Tempting me from mothers’ land
Dropped my clothes to spiralled shells
In the distance I heard bells.
Should I go? Should I stay?
Perhaps I’ll wait another day.
He yelled something, He yelled “You’re Mine”
Then he threw a fishing line
Creative clouds made some shade
On his hook was a mermaid!
Her hair it tangled in the catch
Upon my skin a nervous rash
Guilty I yelled once more
Mermaid looked upon the shore…
Turned to you and broke your line
Kissed your lips for some time
The two of them went back to sea
With disregard of little me
Hence here I cry and here I pout
When tide rolls in and tide rolls out
Fishies swim, pirates sail
Grasping tight a piece of shale.
...
Looked at you upon the sand
Sea salting a rugged hand
You warned me of the surly squid;
Guilty for the things I did
Though love I tried to call her near…
Then ripples came without my dear
Guilty you called me so
Went very still the ocean flow
Hence now I cry as there I moped;
Yes the mermaid I eloped
As she left me she said she must
This wasn’t love but only lust.
When tide rolled in and tide rolled out
In the distance I heard you shout
Guilty yes I lost the game
Guilty is my middle name
For love we should not play along
For ocean rips and can be strong
Blinded by a sea of love
Seagulls witness from above
The sharks they spiral to feed on me
Out upon the wretched sea
Lost I was, lost my courses,
Followed back a few sea horses.
All for just a little fun;
My love for you- it came undone
My crown it fell with mere seaweed
Though now I know what I need
I’m gonna swim, I’m gonna jump
In my throat a little lump
I’ll make it- I assure you so
Stay right there and please don’t go.
————
In the ocean; in the sea
I saw him swimming back to me
Dolphins clapped, whales sprayed
Suddenly I weren’t betrayed…
Until that mermaid reappeared
I tell you what- she was so weird
She looked at me, she looked at you
Payback now was overdue
My boomerang I clenched so tight
Threw it hard, went out of sight
From out of nowhere it hit his head
Oh my love he maybe dead !
Quickly put bikinis on
Swum so fast to find my hon
She had him in her arms; my fulla
So I hit her with my nulla nulla…
Hit her twice, thrice and more
Til she floated back to shore
Under the sand-she rests right there
All because he did not care
You went astray and lost my trust
All for some mermaid bust
Hence here I watch with an eagles eye
Even when the time does fly.
For guilty you will always be
You stole my heart and you hurt me
Guilty Guilty You are my fulla
Clutching tight my nulla nulla
So mermaids gone and lust and passion
For love does rule and still in fashion
To each other voice til the end of time-
Oh my love You’re Mine ! You’re mine !!
