Your Memory

Your memory paid a visit to the darkest corner of my mind today I tried not to notice it but old feelings kept getting in my way These people in this place I'm at keep telling me that I shouldn't care But everyplace I go to hide you're memory always somehow finds me there I still see your face, everytime I close my eyes I can't seem to forget you, no matter what I try Everytime that I hide, you come and find me There's not a thing that I can do that helps me shake your memory Last night I used a bottle trying to drown your memory from my mind But when my glass was empty you showed up at the bottom every time The more I drank the farther I thought that it would push those thoughts from me But no matter what I do I just can't seem to shake your memory I still see your face, everytime I close my eyes I can't seem to forget you, no matter what I try Everytime that I hide, you come and find me There's not a thing that I can do that helps me shake your memory

Only time will help us recover from the pain of losing a loved one, Kevin. And it doesn't help when people tell us this as we suffer. I only know it is true. Congratulations on your win in Brian's contest! Best wishes, Carolyn
