You, Me and the End
I can't make you love me
So I guess I'll let you be,
They say if you love something set it free,
But all I want is for you to see
And to come back to me.
It's gotten harder to breathe,
When you're not next to me,
Why did you tell me to believe
Only to set me free?
I never wanted anyone else,
Why couldn't you understand,
I looked in your eyes, took your hand
In mine, thought this was love,
Where did we go wrong?
Now the black roses, they've
Turned to ash and died right
Under our noses with our love;
The ash melted away into the air,
Leaving no trace behind.
You broke my wings when I,
I tried so hard to fly,
In the blink of an eye
You were gone and I,
I was left behind to wonder why.
It's gotten harder to breathe,
When you're not next to me,
Why did you tell me to believe
Only to set me free?
I know some day I'll love again,
And all the remember whens
Will be history, time's my only friend
When it comes to you, me and the end....
