Hyper vilgilence Perhaps divine intervention To navigate an early world of danger Or just the product of damage done early The poisoned chalice It allows me to see into the future Experience the as yet unoccurred repercussions I've been dialling it down recently Purposefully being unprepared As seeing how it ends, isn't fun For professional judgement calls It comes into its own Gauging a person, watching the cues People can be fascinating And I like knowing who the good ones are I pick up on a myriad of nuance Then there is the pain Catching lies easily Being conscious of lack of resonance Interruption to happiness, aware of subtext Spiral after spiral of knowing too much The wise person knows Ignorance is bliss A Wisdom Download Poetry Contest 8th April 2023 Sponsored by: Unseeking Seeker
