Will You Come
If I ask you to come and get me tomorrow
Would you turn down my request to come?
If I ask you to come and get me tomorrow
Would you lay down your burden and come?
Tomorrow might be sorrow, tomorrow I am free
Should I spend the rest of days looking the same?
Or should I look for someone to blame?
Day in day out I am always on the go
And there is no one to complete this endless show
Here I am standing on the corner
looking at the strange order
Everyday a new group comes to the town
In a brand new fashion that is not around
Some looking amused other looked confused
And some with an expression saying
“What on earth is going on?”
I have listened to their conversation
as they murmur and pass by
And I heard them shouting in a loud voice
“I have not been here since nineteen sixty-six
And strange things are happening here”
Some have been brought back to face their age old music
While another group got free tickets
To have a three weeks visit
A large group got a package to come
Only heaven knows what they have done
I stand in the corner and I kept thinking
When will we have the glorious meeting?
All the impostors have come and gone
And I am still standing on the lawn
And I don’t know them, I have never met them
And I have never spoken to them
Yet they say that they have a claim on me
I couldn’t even have a conversation with anybody
Because of the fake spouse jealousy
If anyone stop to have a conversation with me
The next day they would be in real misery and
punished by the person who is trying to control me
The spirit of jealousy was riding high
And there is absolutely no one to attend to my innate cry
The tears cannot flow and I just want to go
Everything I do, I just cannot get a breakthrough
The sun is very hot and perspiration is oozing out of my back
The wind is blowing the traffic is flowing
And my spirit is glowing under this sweltering heat
The minibus loaders are screaming and shouting
And wisdom of mankind is constantly floating
But something tells me that you
will be coming at dawn when you get the order
There is no sign or message in the post
But I am still waiting to hear from you,
What is taking you so long to come
Don’t you know that the journey has just began
How long must I wait here for you?
I have so much to share about my moving days
The heat is playing tick tac toe under my feet
And the trees are rustling in high degree
I am standing here alone,
Watching the clowns roaming around
The day continue to bear its own weight
Skipping around from gate to gate
They just want to let it out
to begin the historic anticipated show
“Them beat the coolly man till him soft”
a man and woman start’s to shout
What on earth was going on?
Rumor has it that a fifty four years old man
raped a ten years old girl
Everyone dip into the conversation
and start a rowdy discussion
They were talking above one another
in a language that was quite improper.
And then another argument came along
about the reckless soldier man
that killed is girlfriend in cold blood
It was so graphic, I could hardly believe it
One woman defend the killer because she had a son
And another woman defended the dead woman because she had a daughter; the bacchanals went on for a while
Forcing me to take refuge on the other side
Here I am standing in plain sight looking out for you
I thought I heard a strange sound,
Yes it was another crazy happening in the town
A Rastafarian woman holding a green yellow and red
Rastafarian flag, march up and down the street calling down destruction on the LGTBQ people.
She shouted in a strange armature voice
“man a f*** man woman a f***woman
fire a burn death and destruction on the land”
her coward voice ramble in fear
as she run up and down the pavement
with the devil’s flag
She was trying a thing but it was not convincing
I am standing in plain sight waiting for you to come
I need to see some sign to know when you are going to come
If I ask you to come on Friday will you come?
If I ask you to come on Saturday will you come?
If I ask you to come on Monday, will you come?
Please let me know when you will come
I am still waiting on the corner.
