Will Drive Us To Drink
Not sure which way this day's gonna go
It's really kinda early to tell
Could be happy, could be a downer
Could be a day from hell
No guarantees, we wake up feeling fine
Then kerpow, we suddenly get hit
That's followed by a series of other disasters
The day's a write-off bit by bit
Still tomorrow for us guys to look forward to
At this point, it looks pretty good
At least we have all the modern conveniences
Don't have to collect and chop wood
Can always find a positive just take time to look
Lucky we don't live in the thirties
Without the Net and TV to hold our attention
Must have been a boring journey
There was always radio to hold our attention
As we sat staring off into space
Listening intently to each word spoken
With a far away look on our face
Each generation is more advanced than the last
They call it progress methinks
Sometimes I wonder if progress is a good thing
Or eventually will drive us to drink
