Who Will Speak For Me?

My trembling Soul; gripped by fear, As I walk alone but far from near. My heart races as I lose control, When I remember the Hands that drew near. Who’ll speak for me, when I’m silenced by fear? When my body’s used, like a thing insincere, Subdued by his power, as of a Pistol; The threat of violence, a constant fear. Who’ll stand for me, when the pain is severe? When my eyes are shut, in a nightmare of fear, When I’m a statistic, just a number of patrol, And society’s apathy brings the shame from far to near. Rape is a sin that scares us for life, A cruel, heartless act of endless strife.
