WHO I AM

I am the dandelion girl with painted friendly face Who challenges young world in a relay race I am running like red towards the sun With jokes so funny despite yellow corny pun I am a milky smile away, from that joy Baking girls scout cookies for a boisterous boy I am the new and the old Story of youth grandparents told I am the fire in a huge heart And red desire that is a fresh start Of new inspiration and silvery spark That anticipation as we walk despite dark Dark days come and I glow I am a candle of yellow hope For seasons come and seasons go But I am strong holding you close I am love I am light I am in touch with Jesus Christ For his word is true to delight I am in tune with divine I am a seed in mid growth Planting peace joy and so I am indeed a called soul Water me and watch me grow I am a song in your heart That hums on and on in your thoughts Sparking your own peach melody Singing along as we share pink peace I am your seed your destiny I am your need and best instinct I am your push when you need gravity I am your words when you need to speak Like a burning bush with a message of truth I am the fire inside of you

Again, just a wonderful 'I am a ___ ' refrain you've set up here, Karen, to take me, your reader, a-winging through this fine bit of poetry. Keep 'em coming, Gershon

You poem beautifully weaves together images of youth and nostalgia, bridging the gap between generations. The references to baking cookies, the stories passed down by grandparents, and the juxtaposition of "new and old" create a tapestry of experiences that transcend time.
