Where There is no Good
As hours of our life are cascading down the hill
And the sands in times' hourglass are steadily running through
Would that there was a way to hold time still
But we see our loved ones going and know that we will too
Some things are inevitable, and them we cannot change
Like the situations some of us are placed in for life
The establishment of life--birth, death, we cannot change
Often our road is struggling upwards, embittered by strife
But there may be good to be found when there is no good
A gleam of early sunshine, a delicately budding flower
Pink and gold clouds at the breaking of the day
A kittens' whiskers, a babys' smile, has undefinable power
Each situation in life has its own hardness
Especially those that emotionally wound
The valley as you struggle is full of gloominess
Death could be the result if you're not rescued soon
Why, then, do you wake each passing day
Do you feel discouraged when there is all to discourage
There is hope where there is no hope, from experience say,
Taught by experience, Shikata ga nai, take on new courage
