Where Is My Voice
Where is my own voice?
What do I really want to say?
I am me and only a no one,
Who will the piper pay?
Who will want to listen,
To these jumbled up ideas?
Who feels my emotion,
Or understands my fears?
Why do I want to write?
What words come to mind?
Why should I openly express
What, inside myself, I find?
Who wants to experience,
To see the pictures that I write?
I feel full up with indecision,
As I sit here alone tonight.
What can I give to each person,
That may end up judging me?
How can I create a vision,
And help everyone to see?
I want to reach out and touch
Troubled souls, those feeling lost
For I have travelled a journey
And I know just what the cost.
You have to be brave to share
The thoughts within your head,
But after all you’ve just one life,
And in truth you’re a long time dead.
So I’ll take a deep breath, just begin,
What I write often is not my choice,
I’ll simply write straight from my heart
And perhaps I’ll find my voice.
